- Abstract:
- The chapter is devoted to the study of some aspects of the educational process in a medical university, according to first-year students, which ultimately became the goal of the work. This topic is very relevant in view of the fact that, despite the fact that many authors conduct similar studies, they rarely directly affect first-year students who have just entered the university, analyzing their first impressions. This work can become a definite step in a long-term study for many years, with the study of the dynamics of the thoughts and opinions of the students included in the study. At the same time, the work is given additional relevance by the fact that the opinions of students of different forms of tuition payment were studied. Thus, 200 students of the first year of the medical faculty, divided into 2 groups of 100 people, served as the objects of the study: the 1st group included students studying in the budget and targeted form of education; the 2nd group included students studying on a commercial basis. The basis of the study was a questionnaire specially developed by the authors, containing a number of questions concerning some aspects of admission to a university and, in particular, the choice of a university, the first opinion and general impression of the educational process were studied, the main positive and negative points were analyzed. The obtained data are of interest not only for teachers of the higher medical school, but also for all those teachers who are engaged in the educational process with first-year students.

Gender Differences in Student Engagement Indicators
Book ChapterModern educational technologies: Pedagogy and Psychology- Author:

- Work direction:
- Глава 5
- Abstract:
- The study of gender differences in the academic engagement of university students is necessary for the targeted use of various educational technologies in the educational process in higher education. In this regard, it is important to conduct a comparative analysis of the components of engagement in higher education among girls and boys. The study used the methods «Emoticons» (Gizhitsky, 2016), «Diagnostics of student learning motivation» (Badmaeva, 2004), «Scales of academic motivation» (Gordeeva, Sychev, Osin, 2014), «Self-assessment of emotional and personal well-being» (Karapetyan, Glotova, 2020), pilot author's questionnaires «Inclusiveness in learning sessions», «Academic microdeviations» and «Self-report on academic performance». 263 university students aged 16–25 (202 girls and 61 boys) took part in the study conducted by an online survey. The Mann-Whitney U-test was used in data processing. The results of the study revealed that according to the indicators of academic engagement of students, more directly related to learning, there are no gender differences, and the belonging of girls and boys to the same socio-demographic group – «studentship» comes to the fore, since the norms and requirements for higher school students do not differentiate depending on the gender of students; gender differences were found in indicators of academic engagement, which are more indirectly related to learning, since these differences are largely due to the influence of spontaneous and purposeful impacts from broader layers of society, such as family upbringing, communication in peer reference groups, the impact of mass media and the Internet, including information and psychological technologies of social engineering.

Professiographic monitoring as a technology for assessing the dynamics of the formation of the motivational component of the professional competence of maritime university cadets
Research ArticleDevelopment of education Volume 7 No 3- Author:
- Kirill A. Novoselov
- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- The study focuses on the investigation of the process of forming the motivational aspect of the professional competency of cadets at a maritime university in a blended learning environment. Given the digitalization of higher education and the specific requirements of the maritime industry, there is a need to provide a solution in response to the demands of ship owners. Employers seek to employ motivated young professionals who are not only skilled in their field but also possess a drive for professional growth. The aim of professional training is to develop competencies, while the motivational element remains unaddressed. It is essential to develop techniques that facilitate the development of this aspect. Professiographic monitoring represents a relatively underexplored technique. The objective of this study is to devise and validate the feasibility of utilizing this approach within a maritime university context. The model for the development of the motivational aspect of professional competence has been created and tested. This model defines the role and components of professiographic monitoring. Its functions have been proposed and criteria for assessing the level of motivation in professional competence have been defined. The results of the study demonstrated positive trends in the development of motivation among cadets, indicating a positive impact on their professional competence.

The study of the relationship between the motives of learning with self-regulation and student academic performance
Book ChapterTheoretical and practical aspects of pedagogy and psychology- Author:
- Galina A. Glotova
- Work direction:
- Глава 4
- Abstract:
- The study is devoted to the analysis of the relationship between the motives of learning, measured by two methods based on different theoretical approaches, with the main regulatory processes (planning, modeling, programming, evaluation of results) and regulatory and personal properties (flexibility, independence), as well as with students' self-reports on academic performance. The study used the following methods: «Diagnostics of students' learning motivation» (Badmaeva, 2004), «Scales of academic motivation» (Gordeeva, Sychev, Osin, 2014), «Style of self-regulation of behavior – SSP-98» (Morosanova, 2000) and self-report of students on their academic performance over the past semesters. The study was conducted using an online survey in a Google form on a sample of 82 university students aged 18–29 years. Correlation analysis (according to Spearman) and factor analysis (with Varimax rotation) were used in data processing. The results of the study: multiple significant correlations of learning motives, measured by two different methods «Diagnostics of student learning motivation» and «Scales of academic motivation», with scales of the SSP-98 methodology were obtained; significant positive correlations of learning motives with self-report on academic performance allow us to analyze the types of students' activities that include learning activities, that requires the use of already developed educational technologies and the development of new ones in the educational process at the university.

- Abstract:
- The study is devoted to a comparative analysis of the results of using in different samples two different methods related to the study of students' learning motivation. The study used methods based on different approaches «Diagnostics of students' learning motivation» (Badmaeva, 2004) and «Scales of academic motivation» (Gordeeva, Sychev, Osin, 2014). In addition, students provided information about their academic performance over the past semesters. The study was conducted using an online survey in a Google form on a sample of 82 university students aged 18–29 years. Correlation analysis (according to Spearman) and factor analysis (with Varimax rotation) were used in data processing. The results of the study showed that the scales of the methods «Diagnostics of students' learning motivation» and «Scales of academic motivation» when used in different samples correlate quite closely with each other; the methods «Diagnostics of students' learning motivation» and «Scales of academic motivation», despite differences in their structure and terminology, allow us to assess the formation of students' learning motives; with the self-report on academic performance in the method «Diagnostics of students' learning motivation» correlate, first of all, the motives of the learning of the «activity spectrum», and in the method «Scales of academic motivation» – the scale of the «internal motivation» of the learning; the joint use of the methods «Diagnostics of students' learning motivation» and «Scales of academic motivation» makes it possible to obtain a more differentiated picture of the features of the motivational sphere of students.

Age differences in indicators of academic involvement of higher school students
Book ChapterTheoretical and practical aspects of pedagogy and psychology- Author:
- Galina A. Glotova
- Work direction:
- Глава 6
- Abstract:
- The study of age-related features of academic engagement of university students is relevant, since some students by the time they complete their studies do not sufficiently master the necessary knowledge and competencies. This requires an in-depth study of the phenomenon of academic engagement, its various aspects, among which the age aspect plays an important role. The study used the methods «Emoticons» (Gizhitsky, 2016), «Diagnostics of students' educational motivation» (Badmaeva, 2004), «Scales of academic motivation» (Gordeeva, Sychev, Osin, 2014), «Self-assessment of emotional and personal well-being» (Glotova, Karapetyan, 2020), pilot author's questionnaires «Inclusion in training sessions» and «Academic microdeviations». Students also provided information about their academic performance over the past semesters, age and course of study at the time of the survey. 263 university students aged 16–25 years (202 girls and 61 boys) took part in the study conducted by an online survey. The Mann-Whitney U-test and Spearman correlation analysis were used in data processing. The results showed that the age factor was largely manifested in the behavioral component of engagement in learning in both female and male samples; in the motivational and cognitive components of engagement, gender differences were found, manifested in a more pronounced effect of the age factor in girls; in the female and male samples, the effect of the age factor was not manifested in the resulting component of academic engagement, as well as in value and emotional components.

Features of using neural network platforms for teaching foreign languages in a non-linguistic university
Book ChapterTheoretical and practical aspects of pedagogy and psychology- Author:
- Elena G. Liakhova
- Work direction:
- Глава 8
- Abstract:
- This study was conducted to find out the advantages and disadvantages of teaching a foreign language at a non-linguistic university using neural network platforms and to compare such training with traditional teaching of foreign languages. During the research, an analysis of the features of neural networks and learning platforms based on them was carried out. The author of the article conducted experimental training in order to compare the success of mastering lexical and grammatical foreign language material when learning on the Duolingo neural network platform with traditional foreign language teaching. As a result of the study, the author discovered that when learning on neural network platforms, students experience difficulties at the stages of forming and maintaining motivation, presenting new foreign language material, comprehending and rethinking. These difficulties are associated with the risk of cognitive devaluation of students’ memory, the Google effect, the inability of neural networks to structure information, clip thinking, and the lack of comparison of new foreign language phenomena with their analogues in the students’ native language and native culture. At the same time, in the process of experimental training, the author found that vocabulary acquisition occurs more effectively when learning on neural network platforms. In addition, according to the results of the survey, students like to study a foreign language on neural network platforms due to the abundance of game components of such learning. In conclusion, the article provides ways to mitigate and level out the identified shortcomings of learning on neural network platforms, the main of which is the organization of blended learning, in which the teacher forms and maintains student motivation, presents new foreign language material, activates students’ conceptual critical thinking with the help of appropriate exercises, and students perform lexical and grammatical exercises on the neural network platform.

- Abstract:
- Due to the rapid development of information technology and artificial intelligence, the use of neural networks is becoming more widespread and significant in various fields of research and training. In higher mathematics, neural networks can be used to improve the learning process of students. For example, they can help create online courses tailored to the individual needs of students. Neural networks can analyze the results of students' work and offer individual recommendations for studying specific topics or problem areas. In addition, neural networks can be used to develop intelligent systems for automatic task verification and pattern recognition. This can help teachers in the process of evaluating students' work and providing feedback. Neural networks can also diagnose problems in understanding the material and offer additional materials or exercises to consolidate skills. Neural networks can also be used to study complex mathematical problems and develop new approaches and methods in higher mathematics. Their ability to process large amounts of data and find complex patterns can help in the study of mathematical structure and the creation of new mathematical models. It is obvious that the use of neural networks in teaching higher mathematics opens up opportunities for more effective and individualized student learning, as well as for the development of mathematics itself. Therefore, this topic is relevant and interesting for further research and applications.

- Elena V. Pavlova
- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- The article summarizes the experience of training music teachers, combining the traditional music-pedagogical content of university educational programs with the introduction of students to various forms of electronic music creativity. The relevance is due to the fact that electronic music creativity based on the mastery of music-computer technologies and electronic musical instruments is of great importance in modern music art and education. In this regard, there is a need for special training of teachers for professional activity in this direction, which is confirmed by scientific research of scientists devoted to various aspects of electronic music creativity (I. B. Gorbunova, I. M. Krasilnikov, A. A. Pankova, V. O. Malashchenko, etc.). At the same time, the study of the content of bachelor's degree programs in pedagogical universities of Russia has shown that electronic music creativity is not sufficiently reflected in the educational process. The aim of the research is to provide theoretical grounding and practical confirmation of the need to include disciplines related to electronic music creativity in the educational programs of pedagogical universities. The study, conducted in 2013-2023, involved students of the Faculty of Art and Music Education of the Chuvash State Pedagogical University. Research methods: theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological literature; analysis of the current state of university practice in the field of the problem under study; empirical research methods (observation, conversation, survey); retrospective analysis of their own teaching experience; analysis of the obtained data. As a result of the conducted work the insufficient attention to the indicated problem in the system of university training of teachers-musicians was revealed, the necessity of introducing students to electronic musical creativity in the process of training in the university was substantiated, the effectiveness of disciplines of this orientation in the development of cognitive interest in learning activities and creative self-realization of students was confirmed, classroom and extracurricular forms of introducing students to electronic musical creativity were shown. Conclusions. Mastering of electronic music creation by future teachers is a necessary condition for the professional training of a modern music teacher. It will contribute to the successful training of teachers who are able to professionally use the possibilities of music and computer technologies in the pedagogical process.
