“Thinking and Dancing”: Linguistic Plastic Code at the Heart of the Formation of the Theory of the Subject of Choreography
Book Chapter
Pedagogy and Psychology of Modern Education- Author:
- Nadezhda A. Dogorova
- Work direction:
- Глава 11
- Abstract:
- The historical and practical experience of choreography has a phasing and hierarchy of the levels of mental activity, which can be traced in the history of dance culture through plastic codes. The phenomenon of choreographic art in the classical ages lies in the fact that within the late XVI–XIX centuries in Europe (Italy, France, Denmark) complex cultural processes and intersections of a biosemiotic nature took place simultaneously: on the one hand, this is the formation of a ‘new’ human worldview, and on the other, the formation of a ‘new’ model of scientific and an artistic picture of the world. Where the boundaries of the art of dance (the emergence of new genres, language and style) and cultural and historical time in different countries do not always coincide. In all this, the dominant side should also exist: finding of means (a rule, a method, a norm) and forms (creative thought, will, creative impulses, creative spirit) in the transformation of the foundations of the world order.

- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The paper studies the role and functions of songs in an ethnic language in the life of representatives of the internal diaspora. The article is based on the results of sociolinguistic surveys conducted in Chuvash and Mari diasporas of the Moscow region in 2014–2017 and 2019–2021, respectively. The researcher employed the following sociolinguistic methods: direct observation, participant observation, structured interviews of respondents, documentary recording of responses, statistical data analysis. One of the blocks in the sociolinguistic questionnaire included such aspects as the language – in – culture and ethnic culture maintenance in the context of the vitality of ethnic language. Ethnic culture, along with the ethnic language, is one of the key markers of ethnic identity in both samples. As the results of the survey demonstrate, songs in Mari or Chuvash occupy a significant place in the respondents’ life. Several functions of the ethnic song were identified: adaptation to new living conditions; co-optation of new members (i. e., through cultural ethnic events); creative self-realization; language learning (i. e., ethnic songs used for educational purposes in language courses); initiation into language and culture for new speakers of Chuvash and Mari. The role of ethnic song in the revitalization of the language has been equally determined.

- Abstract:
- The interaction of literary and linguistic approaches in the process of analyzing a literary text makes it possible to penetrate into the depth of the artistic work. This is the relevance of the study. The authors conducted a philological analysis of the ethical S. Zweig’s short story “The Governess” using these approaches. The following means were identified to characterize the psychological tension of the characters: climax and introspection. The analysis of linguistic-stylistic means in the description of the presented images of characters and their interactions is carried out. The analysis revealed the following tropes: direct nominations amplified by the epithets; repetitions of verbs and nouns; artistic comparisons; metaphors; metonymies; paraphrases; hyperboles; personifications; internal parallelisms; figures of “default”; internal monologues; rhetorical questions and exclamations. Three stages of dynamization of the emotional experiences of the main characters are identified with the help of linguistic-stylistic means: 1) slight suspicion, vague contradiction, caution; 2) distrust, suspicion, nervousness, agitation; 3) open protest, experience, grief, despair, disappointment, tears, silence, darkness. The conclusion states that S. Zweig made the best presentation of linguistic and stylistic means to characterize the main characters and the growth of their emotional tension.

Ontological Models of Proverbs as Precedent Texts (on the Material of Different Structural Models in the Russian and Chuvash Languages)
Research Article
Ethnic Culture Volume 5 No 2- Authors:
- Aleksei R. Gubanov, Ekaterina A. Kozhemiakova, Galina F. Gubanova
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- This article presents an analysis of proverbs as precedent texts and their ontological (conceptual) models in the Russian and Chuvash languages as having different structures. The relevance of the work is due to the cognitive-pragmatic approach to the linguistic picture of the world of proverbs, as well as the need to determine the status of the ontological model of precedent texts of proverbs as a special structure of knowledge that characterizes the features of ethno-linguistic consciousness. Based on the material of Russian and Chuvash proverbs, a conceptual analysis of the precedent texts of proverbs is carried out. The basic models of the subject's cognitive decision-making strategy are distinguished: 1) cognitive setting for a low / high degree of argumentative impact: a) with the axiological dominant “gradation”; b) with a stereotypical dominant; c) with adaptive dominant; 2) cognitive attitude with the axiological component “positive – negative”. The identified types of axiological components of conceptual objects act as factors, grounds that ensure the use of proverbs as an argument, reflecting the values and traditions of the Russian and Chuvash cultural communities. Characteristic for acts of argumentation in which proverbs are used are such basic structures as one-sided argumentation and two-sided argumentation. In the discourse in the relationship of communicants in the languages under consideration, simple and complex speech acts with proverbs are used, which have the same pragmatic features, but differ in quantitative terms and communicative conditions of functioning. The structure of the precedent text of proverbs is presented as an ontology in the Protégé ontology editor system, since in modern research ontology is considered the leading paradigm of information content structuring.

- Modern education is undergoing serious changes and is aimed at developing competencies for students to be successful in society: critical thinking, communication skills, cooperation and positive interaction skills, social and cultural awareness, functional literacy, etc. Accordingly, the forms and methods of teaching and development of students of different age groups change accordingly. The most effective strategies for working with children include those that help students understand what is being presented to them in class, providing meaningful feedback, approaches that improve metacognition, and students' ability to plan and evaluate their own learning. In the present study, we have made an attempt to develop a program to develop the linguistic abilities of teenagers that is based on the basic principles of subject-subject interaction in the educational process. The developed program caused a number of changes in the motivational and cognitive spheres of the students, and positive changes in the mastering of linguistic material. About Modern Factors of Yakut Identity at the Turn of the XX–XXI Centuries
Review Article
Ethnic Culture Volume 4 No 3- Author:
- Daria G. Bragina
- Work direction:
- Ethnography, Ethnology and Anthropology
- Abstract:
- In the conditions of the historically established ethnic diversity in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the complex development of market relations and the strengthening of the role of the ethnic factor, the problems of ethno-social adaptation of the indigenous population arises. The purpose of the article is to study the structure of a person's self-identification and to research various forms of identity such as ethno-cultural, linguistic and ethnic. One of the main sources for studying the problems of ethnicity was both various statistical materials, data from an ethno-sociological survey, and field ethnographic materials obtained by the author of the article in the course of expeditionary and stationary work in the uluses of the republic over the last quarter of the XX century – the beginning of the XXI century. When writing the work, the author applied both methods of field research in order to collect initial material, as well as theoretical and methodological ones. The article concludes that if there is a problem with the functioning of the Yakut language and its loss by a part of the urban Yakut population, it does not lead to the loss of Yakut identity. On the contrary, partly the loss of their native language by people of Yakut nationality, as it turned out, leads to the strengthening of their ethno-cultural identity. The dynamic of the number of Yakuts shows that the ethnic factor plays an important role in the identification of a person. The results of the work confirm the thesis that ethnicity, compensating for the weakening of civic identity, becomes a defining stratifying category, acquiring the ethnopolitical rank. In general, despite the influence of various factors, the materials of ethno-sociological studies in Yakutia showed a high degree of manifestation of both ethnic and ethno-cultural identity, and partly linguistic.

- Abstract:
- The purpose of the work is to describe the method of the linguoculturological field (LCF), the features of its application in RFL classes and to demonstrate its capabilities in the aspect of professionalization. The theoretical substantiation of the method is given, the principles of LCF formation in the didactic aspect are formulated and models of three linguistic and cultural fields are presented. The following research methods were used in the work: the method of controlled selection, conceptual analysis, synthesis, field modeling. The authors noted the need for the formation of non-philological specialties among foreign students along with the professional competence of linguistic and cultural competence. This approach can greatly facilitate the process of entry of foreign students into the field of professional language, and also gives them the opportunity to get acquainted with Russian culture at the same time. The latter, in turn, will contribute to the formation of communicative competence, which is necessary for successful study in Russia. It is possible to achieve the simultaneous development of these three competencies by applying the LCF method. As a result, a key concept corresponding to their professionalization develops in the minds of students. For medical students it is a "Russian doctor", for military school students it is a "Russian warrior", for music students it is a "Russian musician". The article traces the connection of linguoculturology, linguistics and professional language. The concept of the linguoculturological field, its structure and units (linguoculturemes) is given. These units are, among other things, vocabulary located at the junction of the mentioned disciplines. Three linguistic and cultural fields have been formed, each of which contains 5 lists of linguistic units: 1) frequently used words; 2) sample contexts; 3) prominent figures in the field; 4) fiction and non-fiction texts; 5) quotes and sayings. These units generally cover the center, periphery and cultural component of each simulated field. It is proposed to organize RCT training, moving from the center to the periphery of the field according to educational centers united by the corresponding cultural theme. Brief recommendations on the implementation of the training center in the thematic plan are also given.

- This paper presents the results of a study aimed at revealing specific features of teaching a foreign language and, in particular its grammar, online (via a video conference) as compared with off-line training. By analyzing works on the problem, evaluating the teaching experience, studying the data of a student survey (open-ended questions type) and the data of previous similar surveys, we reveal positive and negative aspects of online foreign language classes. Next, we suggest ways to eliminate or diminish the disadvantages of online learning and ways to use its advantages in teaching foreign grammar. The adaptation of a grammar teaching methodology to the «online» mode is presented as a revision of ways (forms, techniques, tools) to present and master the material. The teacher is to take into account the psychological difficulties of online learning, while following the general didactic principles and preserving the content of the methodology.

- Problems of Crosslinguistic and Intercultural Communication
- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to a description of cognitive attitude complexes that underlie linguistic thinking and function in the form of cultural codes. Such complexes form a cognitive substrate of linguistic thinking. It has ethnocultural and ethnolinguistic specificity. Research methods: analysis, comparison, descriptive method, interlinguistic comparison of mercantilist and military cultural codes on the basis of English and Russian linguocultural materials. Research results. It is outlined that the cognitive substrate of the linguistic thinking performs the function of modelling reality, acting as a complex of cultural codes. It is shown that the codes used by a person in his / her linguistic thinking are divided into internal and external ones. Internal codes are spiritually close to their user; he / she forms thoughts in them, and as for external codes, he / she only verbally formulates thoughts, translates them from internal to external code. Among the internal codes, there is a cultural code that is closest to the person because of his / her state, occupation, etc. It is concluded that the person views the surrounding world through the prism of the most familiar sphere of life, making it a model of the world and a cultural code.

- Ethno-Cultural and Socio-Cultural Problems of Education
- Abstract:
- The article deals with the specifics of the educational institutions' activities on establishing language rights and filling ethno-cultural needs of students on the example of the National presidential boarding school for gifted children. Active debates of the issue of learning native languages, reducing the hours for teaching national languages in the curriculum of secondary schools, downplaying spiritual and moral education and “giving up positions” to the process of digitalization, the search for solutions and new models of “national schools” determines the relevance of issue studied. It is noted that due to the fact that Russia is a multi-ethnic state and almost all schools are multilingual and multicultural as a result of the dynamic process of migration of parents, schools have to solve the problems of implementing educational programs independently. Also, it is emphasized that since the process of establishing the linguistic rights and filling ethno-cultural needs of students of different nationalities, their relationship with each other entails conflicts and withdrawal to the world of social networks and adolescent groups, educational activities require a careful study. Therefore, the attention of researchers to the problem of establishing the linguistic rights and filling ethno-cultural needs of students causes interest in the problem of managing this activity. The ai, of the article is to develop and justify organizational and pedagogical conditions that contribute to the effective management of educational institutions’ activity on establishing linguistic rights and filling ethno-cultural needs of students. Research methods: study of the literature on the issue studied, the pedagogical experience of the author and teaching staff of schools, analysis of educational programs and curricula. Results. As a result of the research, we identified the main gaps in the existing system of management of educational activities on establishing the linguistic rights and filling ethno-cultural needs of students, the lack of a flexible management model with an adaptive organizational structure of management and appropriate organizational and pedagogical conditions. An effective model for managing the school's activities on establishing the linguistic rights and filling ethno-cultural needs of students is proposed in the article.
