- The concept of "giftedness" is analyzed in the article. The problems and forms of stimulation of various types of giftedness in the Republic of Belarus are considered. The development of children's creative activity in the context of supra-situational decisions is highlighted as an effective factor. The following research methods as the method of contradictory (dialectic) situations, the methods of inclusion, the method of problem situations, the person-application method, the methods of optimizing relationships are the necessary methodological tools in the development of gifted children.

- Abstract:
- An important indicator of giftedness is creativity. The authors have developed a comprehensive diagnostic system for the early detection of children with signs of giftedness. The following indicators of creativity were studied: fluency, flexibility, originality, degree of development. The model of psychological and pedagogical conditions for the successful education of gifted children was also substantiated. According to this model the actualization of giftedness is possible only with close interaction between the school and the family, as well as the activity of the most gifted child in this direction.

- The article is devoted to the issue of possible prospects for personality development of gifted children. The author’s approach is based on the results of research made by American psychologist L. Terman. Analyzing the subject, the author pays special attention to acceleration in personality development of the gifted children as one the educational strategies. The author is also touching upon the issue of establishing a special school for gifted children. The general conclusion made in the article is that various manifestations of giftedness and a child’s advances in various fields at an early age regretfully cannot guarantee success in his future path of self-realization.
