the article is devoted to the understanding of M. K. Mamardashvili's views on the problem of teaching philosophy in higher educational institutions, the analysis of the role of philosophy in modern society and in the education system. It is shown that, despite the presence of philosophy as an obligatory discipline of the basic part of the curriculum, it is possible to state the absence of an integral image of its teaching. The main attention is focused on changing the status of philosophy in the educational process.
