the chapter examines some aspects of development of senior preschool children included in the «situation of learning» in preparation for school. The content of a comprehensive development program is presented. It is shown that in preparation for school one should focus not on the amount of «school» knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired by the child, but on personal development. The importance of a favorable environment, pedagogical support that creates conditions for the child's development, obtaining sufficient preschool education, and maintaining psychological health is established.
