The article presents a theoretical analysis of morality as a fundamental basis for the holistic development of the individual. It examines philosophical and psychological-pedagogical approaches to understanding the phenomenon of morality, with a focus on the domestic scientific tradition. The structure of morality is revealed through the lens of V.A. Sukhomlinsky's concept, and its key components—cognitive, emotional, and behavioral—are identified.
