This article examines the problem of student demotivation in the modern educational system and proposes an approach to solving it through the use of game design principles. The phenomenon of “boredom” is analyzed as a result of a mismatch between the complexity of educational material and the learner’s level of preparation. The concept of “flow” is considered as a state of deep engagement in activity.
