  • Cultural Influence on the International Strategy of Transnational Corpora-tions: an Industry Analysis Based on the Skincare Cosmetics Sector

    The relevance of this study is determined by the growing influence of the cultural factor on the international strategy of transnational corporations amid the digitalization of communication channels and intensifying competition in foreign consumer markets. The object of the study is the international strategy of transnational corporations in the skincare cosmetics industry. The subject of the study is the mechanisms through which cultural differences shape the choice of foreign market entry modes, brand positioning, and product and communication policies under conditions of heterogeneous global demand. The purpose of the study is to identify the nature of culture's influence on the international strategy of transnational corporations and to develop an applied model of cultural adaptation based on the skincare cosmetics industry.The methodological basis of the study comprises a comparative case analysis of the strategies of four transnational corporations (L'Oréal, Beiersdorf, Shiseido, and The Estée Lauder Companies), together with an original empirical survey of 313 respondents, testing the statistical significance of intergroup differences using Pearson's chi-square test. The findings show that basic functional product characteristics, namely skin-type fit and ingredient transparency, exhibit no statistically significant cross-cultural differences (p > 0.05), whereas symbolic perception parameters, including naturalness, ethical positioning, and cruelty-free labeling, differ significantly between the Russian and international audiences (p < 0.05). The study concludes that the effectiveness of international strategy in culturally sensitive consumer market categories is achieved through a combination of standardization and localization rather than a choice between them: by preserving a universal functional core of the product while flexibly adjusting the symbolic layer of the brand to cultural context. This conclusion underlies the proposed eight-stage decision-making model for the cultural adaptation of international strategy.

    Abstract:
    The chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of the general concepts and key development directions of light industry companies in the Russian Federation over the horizon of 2026–2027. The relevance of the study is driven by a change in the phase of sectoral development: after the recovery growth of 2023–2025, the industry is entering a period of stabilization and structural restructuring, in which the key condition for competitiveness becomes not an increase in volumes, but the depth of localization, the quality of brands, and the sustainability of sales channels. An additional factor of uncertainty is the tightening, from January 1, 2027, of the localization assessment rules under Resolution No. 719, which sets new requirements for supply chains. The chapter examines the basic concepts of light industry, its sectoral structure, quantitative indicators for 2026, expected parameters for 2027, and the systemic challenges determining the development directions of companies. Based on the systematization of official data and expert assessments, three stable groups of companies are identified, and strategic guidelines for the industry are formulated.

    Abstract:
    The article examines the role of partner network retention in the marketing strategy of a direct selling company. In such a company the partner is at the same time a buyer of the products, their seller and a channel for recruiting new members, so the loss of a partner means not only lower sales but also a weaker distribution system. Based on the internal sales statistics of the international company APL GO for 2022–2025, an index and structural analysis of paid sales was carried out for the company as a whole and for the Russian market. It was found that after the peak of 2023 sales have been declining, the decline in Russia being much deeper than in other countries, and that most sales come from repeat (secondary) purchases of existing partners. It is concluded that the retention and activation of the existing network should become a priority of the company’s marketing strategy. Directions of a retention strategy and a set of indicators for assessing its performance are proposed.

    The study examines the current conditions for the development of industrial ecosystems within the context of the economy's digital transformation. The research is driven by the pervasive trend toward digitalization in the Russian Federation, which spans a wide range of industrial and economic sectors. The aim of the study is to identify trends in the development of industrial ecosystems and to develop a formalized model for selecting an optimal development strategy, taking into account available resources. The theoretical and methodological framework of the study relies on both empirical methods (expert assessments, analysis of industrial experience) and theoretical methods (systems analysis, categorical analysis, comparison, generalization, and decision-making). The chapter describes the tools that enable the functioning of digital industrial ecosystems and presents examples of their successful implementation. Based on an analysis of publications by Russian scholars, the study formulates principles, outlines development strategies, and proposes a formalized model for selecting an optimal development strategy for an industrial ecosystem, considering available resources.

    The chapter notes that in modern conditions, small business, despite macroeconomic instability, remains a crucial element of the regional economy, creating jobs and entrepreneurial potential. Using the example of Kaluga-based Aton LLC – a leading construction fastener supplier with a 45% market share – the author demonstrates how a well-structured organizational and economic policy enables an enterprise not only to maintain stability during a crisis but also to build a long-term development strategy. The study examines marketing strategy (product range policy, brand management, pricing, sales), financial performance amid currency volatility and inflation, and the competitive environment. Key success factors (diversified product range, direct dealer supplies, quality service) and major risks (currency dependence, high buyer power of retail chains) are identified. The BCG matrix is used to determine promising and unprofitable brands. The research employed systemic, comprehensive, process-based, and situational types of analysis, as well as a multifactorial approach to assessing the enterprise's key positions. It is concluded that Aton LLC maintains its leading position with a stable financial standing.

    This chapter explores the transformation of pedagogical approaches in the context of digital information abundance. The author substantiates the need to shift from the classical educational paradigm of knowledge accumulation to a strategy of developing «cognitive immunity». Drawing on J. Baudrillard's concept of simulacra, D. Kahneman's theory of two systems of thinking, and the methodological standards of R. Paul and L. Elder, the paper proposes a toolkit for «intellectual resistance» to algorithmic distortions. Particular attention is paid to D. Halpern's four-stage model and the implementation of «slow reading» and «zones of intellectual discomfort» practices as ways to overcome fragmentation of consciousness and restore learner agency in the age of hyperreality.

    This article examines the formation of health-saving patterns in preschool children diagnosed with ASD. The emphasis is placed on supporting mental well-being and developing self-regulation abilities. The expediency methods is substantiated, taking into account the characteristic features of the motivational and affective spheres of this category of children. The experience of adapting the methodological complex of M. L. Lazarev is described, during which the basic musical and health-improving intervention was reworked in accordance with the principles of Practical Functional Analysis (PFA)/ Skills- Based Training (SBT), and supplemented with the «shaping» strategy and visual support methods.     The relevance of the research is determined by the need for novice and practicing coaches to systematize activities and move from disparate actions to sustainable entrepreneurial practice. The article presents the methodology of coach-competent mentoring, aimed at developing entrepreneurial thinking through the design of an individual strategy. The concept of an "internal compass" is introduced as a tool for reconciling actions with a planned financial result. Special attention is paid to the dynamics of the focus of attention and the evolution of the expert's identity at different stages of development: from reaching the first income to scaling and working with wealth. A focus matrix is proposed that integrates the stages of practice development and levels of identity, allowing to diagnose the current situation and build an authentic growth trajectory. The article is based on the practical experience of conducting six—month mentoring tracks in the FPKiN.

    The chapter discusses the issues of effective management of the social sphere (projects) at the federal and regional levels. The study presents both empirical and theoretical approaches. Based on a sociological survey conducted in the Nizhny Novgorod region, conclusions have been drawn about the insufficient activation of a number of tools in this area. Adaptive measures are proposed for the existing management model, taking into account the similarity and peculiarities of the socio-economic systems of the subjects of economic activity of the Russian Federation. Among the main areas requiring adjustment are the problem of the personnel shortage of "innovative" type managers, the lack of an integrated approach in software, the imperfection of current legislation (in terms of effective software support for projects), as well as the bias and low efficiency of the tax base. Without improving these aspects, stable economic growth in key areas is unlikely: demography, healthcare, education, and the quality of life of the population. The author sees the solution to these problems primarily in the improvement of the existing program-target method in Russia, which is proposed to be used as a key tool for updating the social system.

    The chapter explores the mechanisms of staff involvement in the digital transformation processes of an organization, from resistance to acceptance of changes. It examines the reasons for resistance, such as fear of losing work, uncertainty about roles, and concerns about the comfort and familiarity of old processes. The chapter proposes a multi-level approach to involvement, which includes strategic leadership, transparent communication, employee participation in planning, opportunities for training and retraining, and the creation of a safe space for feedback. The chapter presents practical methods: targeted communication campaigns, joint formation of a roadmap of changes, involvement of employees in pilot projects, use of agile methodologies and design thinking to minimize resistance. Special attention is paid to measuring the effectiveness of involvement through KPI, satisfaction surveys, indices of perception of changes and monitoring of the organization's culture. As a result, specific steps are proposed to move from resistance to acceptance, which ensures a smoother implementation of digital technologies, increased employee motivation, and a sustainable transformation effect.

    The chapter is devoted to the consideration of relevant issues of forming a strategy for the sustainable development of the regional education quality assessment system. The paper examines the regulatory framework and social challenges associated with this process. The author analyzes the existing approaches to assessing the quality of education in foreign and Russian practice, determines their common features and key problems. The research methodology includes a theoretical review of the regulations governing the field of education quality assessment at the federal and regional levels, as well as the study of the participants' opinions of educational relations based on the results of a sociological survey. The results of the analysis show the need to develop new approaches to assessing the quality of education at the regional level, taking into account the modern requirements of society and the demands of the labour market.     The article presents brief results of defining sustainable development goals in the strategic goal-setting documents of the cities of the Samara region; recommendations are presented for transforming the strategic planning system with the prospect of forming ESG strategies for cities
