  • Development of Information Competence of University Students in the Process of Mapping and Scribing

    Abstract:
    The study focuses on the fact that during the period of digital transformation, modern models of digital competencies have emerged, which serve as the basis for the formation of new standards in the field of education, for the expansion of the teaching professions of the future, for the transition to new learning technologies (mapping, scribing) and the development of professional competencies of students, one of which is information competence. The following issues («prospects of digital transformation in education», «types of models of digital competencies», «information competence as an existential skill and long-term metaability», «mapping as a process of translation of meaning-making», «specific characteristics of cards», «technology of scribing in education») which rise in modern research and affect the improvement of the educational process in the digital educational environment of the university are subject to discussion. Attention is drawn to the description of the pedagogical experience of using mapping and scribing for the development of information competence of university students. The examples of maps created by students and undergraduates of the direction of training «Pedagogical education» and contributing to the formation of their deep and error-free digital educational footprint are given. The influence of mapping and scribing on increasing motivation to learn and the emergence of new student startups in the field of education is investigated. The leading research methods are: analysis of digital competence models for the relevance of the process of developing information competence of university students; analysis and selection of modern technologies in the period of digital transformation in education; generalization of conceptual provisions on information competence and its role for human development; generalization of the pedagogical experience of using mapping and scribing for the development of information competence of university students. Promising areas of research are: the formation of a collection of maps for use in professional activities, for their cognitive analysis; development of the direction of video scribing for distance and additional education of students; identification of the advantages and disadvantages of mapping and scribing and their effectiveness in the development of students' information competence. The research materials are of practical value for students, undergraduates, university teachers and teachers of other educational institutions who are looking for new technologies in organizing the learning process.

    Abstract:
    The paper presents the results of the research of the local educational environment` psychological safety for students of psychology of Irkutsk State University. Significant differences in psychological safety and security level between students of different years were found, for example, satisfaction of the local educational environment and educational safety of 3rd year students appeared to be a lot lower, which can be related to critical point in their primary professionalization. A substantial share of psychologically unsafe and insecure students was also detected. They obviously need a special psychological support.

    Abstract:
    The prevention of occupational burnout among medical students with the use of means and methods of physical culture during their learning period is examined in the article. Occupational burnout, that appears in person's inability to restrain one's emotions which leads to the exhaustion of one's organism, may emerge among specialists of various professions which in most cases leads to psychologic stress. Negative symptoms of professional hazard most commonly appear among medical workers. Same symptoms of occupational burnout may also apear among medical students during their learning period. This burnout build-up and the lack of preventative activities lead to serious consequences for students including suicidal thoughts.

    The article is devoted to a particularly important problem for higher education: the possible risks in the interaction between the university lecturer and the students in the conditions of the pandemic caused by COVID-19. Views of various university professors on the problem are presented. Special attention is paid to several possible risks in the interaction between university lecturer and students: disruption of normal human communication; the state of modern technology – the Internet and the computer; the readiness of the two subjects – the university lecturer and the students to communicate optimally in the Internet space, realizing the two main forms of education: online learning and distance learning; the identification of the two forms of organization of the interaction between the university lecturer and the student in the conditions of a pandemic – online learning and distance learning; the overcrowding of the university lecturer when using online learning or distance learning, which has a negative impact on his health.

    The article presents an analysis of the results of a diagnostic study of students of a pedagogical university under conditions of quarantine measures. The aim of the study was to assess the psychological state of students in the conditions of forced distance learning as well as to evaluate a complex epidemic situation as a stress factor. The study made it possible to describe the personality profiles of students, to characterize the manifestations of protective neurotic reactions as a specific adaptive mechanism, to reveal the level of students' resilience, to determine the level of students' stress in a pandemic. The data obtained make it possible to predict risks and potential difficulties of students' adaptation to academic situations characterized by a high degree of uncertainty, to predict stress resistance as a professional quality of future experts in education.

    The article examines the problem of psychological well-being of students in modern educational conditions in the implementation of a mixed form of education. Attention is drawn to the fact that with blended learning, due to isolation from the study group and sometimes misunderstanding with teachers, information loads increase, lack of interpersonal relationships occurs, and different problems appear. Under such circumstances there is a feeling of anxiety, state of emotional stress, feeling of psychological distress. It is concluded that it is necessary to carefully study the components of psychological well-being in this category of students and to develop a support model.

    Abstract:
    The article considers the process of studying the correlation between the development of personal qualities, the level of physical training of students in universities and the attitude of students to physical education classes. Physical education is one of the main ways of educating modern youth, which should harmoniously combine moral purity and spiritual wealth, physical perfection and psychological purposefulness. It has an impact on increasing the social and labor activity of students during their study at university. An active and healthy person keeps youth for a long time, continuing creative activities, not allowing “the soul to be lazy”. Methods. To achieve the research purposes, we used a specially developed questionnaire on the impact of physical education on the health and attitudes of boys and girls to the subject. The experiment was conducted on the basis of the Sevastopol State University. The sample of probationers from the 1st year of study were 205 students (100 boys and 105 girls). The results of the study showed that 42% of the 1st year students chose to conduct physical education in the educational format, 37% of them are against compulsory classes, and 21% are neutral about physical education. Statistics showed that 60% attend classes only to get a «credit», 33% are interested in studying and gaining knowledge in their sport, and 7% do not attend classes well for various reasons. The authors come to the conclusion that the requirements for graduates of educational institutions presuppose the development of new competencies by teachers that allow them to organize the educational process qualitatively and develop a positive attitude of students to physical education.

  • Consideration of Students' Gender Characteristics in Teaching Foreign Languages

    Abstract:
    The article reveals the gender characteristics of boys and girls, which should be taken into account in teaching in general, and in teaching foreign languages in particular. Theoretical analysis of psychological literature has revealed the gender characteristics of students that must be taken into account when teaching foreign languages. Methods of research. To study the gender characteristics of students, we have developed an author's questionnaire that includes the study of the reasons for students' reluctance to speak English with representatives of the opposite sex and the tendency of students to work in groups. The results of study reveal the features of learning material by girls and boys, the gender reasons for students ' reluctance to speak English with representatives of the opposite sex, and the characteristics of female and male students to work in groups. Discussion of the research results. Based on the results of the research, the article develops recommendations for organizing the educational process, taking into account the gender characteristics of the assimilation of educational material by boys and girls. Conclusion. Based on the study, an important conclusion is made that the use of a gender approach in education has a positive impact on the development of students, their development of the curriculum, team cohesion, academic performance, motivation, and much more.

  • Estimation of Endurance Development in Students at the Agricultural University

    Abstract:
    The article discusses endurance, its role in improving performance capability, the need for mental and physical activity. The value of endurance for the health-improving and training process is analyzed. The article substantiates the importance and necessity of endurance as a physical quality that determines the state of health and the level of physical training. It should be emphasized that the development of endurance contributes to the high functional capabilities of all organs and systems of the body. The results of control standards for the requirements of the university are analyzed. Endurance indicators are analyzed in accordance with the requirements of the GTO standards, and the article assesses the development of students' endurance in an Agricultural University. Method of research. In the course of the study, a comparative analysis of the results was carried out. Search, analysis, generalization of methodological literature and the method of control tests were used. The study duration is 3 years, from 2016 to 2019. The study involved 74 young men aged 18–24 years. The dynamics of the level of physical training is revealed. The relationship between the level of physical training and the successful implementation of control standards and requirements of the GTO standards is revealed. Test result. According to the results of the study, the average level of endurance development was recorded. At delivery testing of the GTO endurance, revealed that on average, students take norm on a silver GTO badge, 30.5% of students are unable to cope with the demands of the all-Russian sports complex in the test. Analysis of the results of the table of control tests of the University in physical education classes allows us to note an increase in the number of students who completed the control standard by 1, 2, 3 points, as well as a decrease in the number of those who did not pass this test. It is concluded that the average level of physical training for this test is recorded. The development of physical qualities, including endurance, ensures harmonious physical development, strengthening of all systems and organs, increasing functional capabilities, reducing fatigue symptoms, and rapid recovery of the body. The development and improvement of endurance is effectively provided by independent classes in physical education and sports.

  • Academic Performance Rating of Students of Elective Discipline in Physical Culture and Sport "Volleyball"

    Abstract:
    Abstract: this paper presents the results of pedagogical testing of first-year students knowledge, which allows evaluating the theoretical preparation of the developed tests. The purpose of the study is to identify the level of knowledge of first-year students of the chosen elective discipline in physical culture and sports "volleyball". The questionnaire includes 4 blocks of questions: history of development; technique of the game; rules of the game in volleyball; gestures of the judges. As a result of the research, data was obtained: 55.5 % of respondents answered the questions correctly, 33.3 % - incorrectly, 11.2 % - found it difficult to answer. Conclusions. Pay special attention to the theoretical knowledge of students in the selected form of elective disciplines "volleyball". Conduct competitions and involve students in judging to consolidate the basics of knowledge in the judging of volleyball competitions.

  • Hanoi Students’ Copping With COVID-19

    Abstract:
    The article is devoted to the consideration of COVID-19 that is a dangerous pandemic in the world, broke out in late December 2019 in Wuhan, China. It is outlined that the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 greatly depends on the consciousness of population, including students studying in Universities in Hanoi. The aim of the study is to find out the characteristics of students’ reaction in Hanoi to the COVID-19 pandemic in three aspects: awareness, emotions and action. Methods. During the study the following methods were used: a survey method to determine the characteristics of students' copping with COVID-19. 395 University students were interviewed. Among them students studying at the National Academy for Educational Management; University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Hanoi Polytechnic University; Hanoi State Pedagogical University. The survey results are listed using the SPSS statistical program. The research results show that the students of universities in Hanoi have a proper awareness, appropriate response in disease conditions, expressed in cognitive, emotional and behavioral aspects. Besides, some students still have subjective expressions, excessive anxiety and negative response behaviors. The results of study show important psychological bases, establish meaningful experiences to develop effective prevention and control copping strategies for COVID-19 and the pandemics like COVID-19 in future.

    Abstract:
    The article explores the use of modern information technology by modern students studying at history department in the search for the necessary information. The work focuses on the ability of a student studying at history department to use the capabilities of the provided resources of the Internet correctly. It implies the ability to navigate electronic versions of libraries, archives and other sites of cultural and historical organizations, as well as the ability to select reliable information, which can sufficiently facilitate the search for high-quality material for writing all kinds of scientific papers. As a result of the analysis of statistical data regarding the popularity of the use of information offered by Internet resources, it was revealed that this topic is relevant nowadays. As a research task, the authors made an attempt to assess the nature of the use of Internet resources by students at the present stage. As a result, it was revealed that this issue has a number of contradictions. Methods of research. A significant part of the study is the description of reliable Internet resources that students studying at history department can use. These include the official sites of libraries, archives and museums. The results of the study showed that with the correct use of Internet resources offered on the World Wide Web, you can quickly find the necessary information and save time. It is concluded that nowadays it is necessary to continue developing the sites of cultural and historical organizations for the positive impact of electronic information sources on the quality of education, and it is also essential to build the information competence of students studying at history department.

The demand for the development of creativity of students is justified, taking into account the trends in the expansion of the information and educational environment, computer resources and tools in modern society. The possibilities of the methodological support of the teacher’s practical classes in technological disciplines in the digital age are disclosed. The results of the experiment on the federal project "Grandchildren Tsiolkovsky" in the national program "Digital Economy" are presented.
