Ethnic Identity of Primary School Students from Tuvan Families: Research Experience
Research Article
Ethnic Culture Volume 8 No 3- Author:
- Aldynai A. Sergin-ool
- Work direction:
- Ethno-Cultural Problems of Education
- Abstract:
- This paper examines the development of ethnic identity in primary school-age children from Tuvan families residing in Kyzyl. Drawing on a theoretical synthesis of various conceptual approaches, the author focuses on the essence and structure of ethnic identity. The study employs M. Kuhn and T. McPartland's “Who Am I?” technique and its adaptation by Russian scholar Z. V. Sikevich. The findings indicate that the ethnic identity of Tuvan primary schoolchildren is in the process of active formation but has not yet become a stable core of self-awareness. Children's self-descriptions are dominated by social roles (family, friends, school) and personal qualities, while ethnic markers are of secondary importance. This is attributable to limited life experience and cognitive immaturity, the predominance of concrete social roles over abstract group belonging, and the weak salience of ethnic themes in everyday life within a homogeneous environment. The study revealed that the majority of children identify as Tuvan and feel a connection to their people, language, and traditions. At the same time, this high level of ethnic self-identification coexists with limited proficiency in their native language, the predominance of Russian in everyday communication, and only a superficial engagement with traditional culture.

- Abstract:
- The research presented in this article focuses on the influence of youth subcultures on adolescent identity construction in modern society. The paper examines both the positive and negative effects of subculture membership, as well as the mechanisms of identity formation in this context. Based on the study's findings, the author concludes that youth subcultures play a dual role: they can act as catalysts for personal identity development, but they also carry the potential for social stigma and conflict.

Self-consciousness as a factor in high school students’ readiness for career choice
Conference PaperYouth science in the modern world- Authors:

- Психолого-педагогическое сопровождение участников образовательного процесса
- Abstract:
- The study is devoted to the problem of high school students’ professional self-determination and its dependence on the development of self-consciousness in this age group. The relevance of the study is associated with the fact that, in early adolescence, the self-concept, reflection, life plans, and the ability to make a conscious career choice are being formed; however, many students still experience difficulties related to awareness, planning, and decision-making. Theoretical analysis made it possible to show that self-consciousness acts as a system-forming mechanism of professional maturity, ensuring the alignment of personal abilities, interests, and the demands of the professional sphere. The empirical study was conducted on a sample of 95 tenth-grade students aged 16–17. The diagnostic instruments used included the Self-Consciousness Scale by A. Fenigstein, M. F. Scheier, and A. H. Buss as adapted by A. V. Bocharov and co-authors, and the Professional Readiness methodology by A.

The Role of Career Guidance in Workforce Development for the Economy of the Chuvash Republic
Review Article
Development of education Volume 9 No 2- Author:
- Alla L. Salaeva
- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- The article examines the role and significance of the career guidance system for students as a process of personnel provision for the regional economy and a factor in shaping its human resources potential. The experience of the Chuvash Republic is analyzed, current methods of organizing career guidance work with students are presented, and key components of a regional program in this area are proposed. The author puts forward a model of cooperation among various stakeholders in the career guidance process at the regional level, and systematizes the most effective methods of working with students. The results of interim monitoring of the implementation of the Unified Career Guidance Model in the 2025–2026 academic year are presented. It is concluded that it is necessary to build a career guidance system for students that covers the entire educational trajectory – from preschool to the workplace – with an emphasis on lifelong learning and vocational training. An important condition for the success of such a system is the active involvement of regional employer enterprises in the career choice process. This study emphasizes that the effectiveness of the career guidance system directly correlates with the region's supply of qualified personnel, which, in turn, serves as the foundation for sustainable economic development aimed at building a competitive and highly skilled talent pool.

The competence paradigm as a resource for the formation of a future teacher's professional identity
Book Chapter
Issues of education and psychology- Author:
- Bela K. Panesh
- Work direction:
- Глава 6
- Abstract:
- The chapter notes that in the context of the modernization of higher pedagogical education, the priority is becoming the formation of graduates not only knowledge, but also the ability for professional self-realization. However, the high percentage of young teachers leaving the profession (up to 50% in the first five years) indicates a crisis of professional identity. The chapter substantiates that the competence paradigm can act not only as a tool for formal assessment, but also as a resource for the formation of a future teacher's professional identity. The author examines the theoretical and methodological foundations of identity research, analyzes the resource potential of the competence approach, identifies the mechanisms of transformation of competencies into identity: activity-based, reflexive, social, and value-semantic. Pedagogical conditions for realizing the resource potential are proposed. It is concluded that professional identity is formed under the condition of special pedagogical design, which makes competencies a personally significant way of professional existence.

- Abstract:
- The article examines the importance of differentiated selection of coaching methods depending on the leading deficit of the client’s request. Based on two anonymized cases from individual coaching practice, different types of client tasks are analyzed: professional self-determination and entrepreneurial procrastination. In the first case, the client was in a situation of professional uncertainty and needed to clarify personal orientations, criteria for searching for a new job, and the image of the future professional self. In the second case, the client already had several areas of activity and understood which ideas were of interest, but faced fatigue, procrastination, self-devaluation, and difficulty bringing actions to completion. Based on the analysis, the article proposes an author’s concept of differentiated structuring of a coaching session. According to this concept, the coach first determines what exactly needs to be structured and only then selects the appropriate techniques.

Pedagogy and psychology as sciences of building the potential of modern society- Author:
- Ekaterina G. Saiganova
- Work direction:
- Глава 11
- Abstract:
- This chapter presents the results of a theoretical and empirical study of the psychological characteristics of students integrating academic and athletic activities in a higher education setting. The relevance of the study stems from the contradiction between the high social demand for well-rounded professionals and the insufficient understanding of the psychological mechanisms of student-athlete development in the university educational environment. The aim of the study is to identify and characterize the psychological determinants, structure, and dynamics of students' personal characteristics in the context of physical education and sports activities and to identify areas for optimizing psychological and pedagogical support for this category of students. The methodological framework is based on a subject-activity approach, the concept of personal potential, and the theory of coping behavior. The study was implemented using a combination of psychodiagnostic methods: the Self-Organization of Activity Questionnaire, the Differential Reflection Diagnostic Method, the Personality Self-Determination Scale, the Coping Strategies Questionnaire, the Keirsey Method, and the «Self-Portrait» projective technique. The sample included 140 students (50 highly skilled athletes and 90 students not involved in professional sports). Statistically significant differences in the structure of students' personal potential were identified depending on their involvement in sports activities. It was shown that athletes demonstrate higher levels of self-organization, self-determination, and a preference for constructive coping strategies. Specific personality profiles of athletes practicing aesthetic sports were identified, characterized by extroversion, perfectionism, workaholism, and demonstrativeness. A theoretical structural and functional model, «Personality Determinants of the Effectiveness of Students' Physical Education and Sports Activities," was developed. Directions for personalizing psychological and pedagogical support are substantiated, differentiated based on students' sports specialization and individual psychological characteristics. The materials in this chapter can be used in the activities of university psychological services and in the training of coaches and teachers.

- Abstract:
- The study focuses on a comparative analysis of the cultural-activity approach and the theory of self-determination related to learning and the diagnotics of learning motives. In addition to the theoretical analysis, the study presents the results of an empirical study of the perceptions of high school students and college students regarding learning motives, which was conducted using a voluntary, anonymous online survey conducted on a Google form. The sample consisted of 107 9th-11th grade students and college students aged 14–19 years. Four methods were used: «Diagnotics of University Students’ (and High School Students’) Learning Motivation» (Badmaeva, 2004), «Academic Motivation Scales» (Gordeeva, Sychev, Osin, 2014), «Comprehensive Assessment of Learning Motivation» (Vartanova, 2000), and «Comprehensive Assessment of Learning Motivation – Pilot Scales», which includes six scales derived from this questionnaire (Glotova, Sh ipilova, 2025). Correlation analysis (according to Spearman) and factor analysis with Varimax rotation were used to process the data. As a result of the study, multiple correlations were obtained between the scales of the four methods; factor analysis revealed the influence of the «social spectrum» learning motive factor and the three «activity spectrum» learning motive factors in the perceptions of high school students; it was shown that the differences in the distribution of the scales of the four methods relative to the identified factors are largely due to the theoretical and methodological differences between the cultural-activity approach and the theory of self-determination, which underlie the methods of diagnosing learning motivation and the learning technologies associated with these approaches.

- Abstract:
- Chapter of the monograph reflects the problems of training specialists of a new creative type, who are distinguished by a high level of professionalism, who are ready for professional and creative self-realization, who have a need for constant professional and personal development and growth. Professional and creative self-realization was not previously considered as a value-target reference point for the professional training of specialists in the field of culture, which makes our study relevant, given the current priorities of higher education. The model of the process of training specialists in the sphere of culture for professional and creative self-realization developed by the author is built in accordance with the logic of a holistic approach in the unity of its internal structure (goal – content – means – result). In the process of implementing the model, a gradual increase in the quality of formation of the studied readiness was carried out. In the system of pedagogical means to form the readiness of specialists for professional and creative self-realization, innovative technologies (playing, projective, creative) are leading. The implementation of these technologies contributed to the acquisition of experience in personal, professional and professional-creative self-realization by future specialists in the field of culture. The special course «Theory and methods of training specialists for professional and creative self-realization» developed by the author is aimed at summarizing and mobilizing the knowledge of a block of general professional and special disciplines, developing special professional abilities (projective, pedagogical, creative) of professional qualities (creativity, general professional competence, competitiveness), as well as the gradual formation of readiness for personal, professional and professional-creative self-realization.
