the article is devoted to the problem of identifying and developing gifted children. The authors identify three main approaches to explaining the nature and structure of giftedness, consider three higher levels of development from the standpoint of classical modern psychology, as well as other aspects necessary in the study of the theory of giftedness.

the chapter examines the theoretical and practical aspects of identifying gifted children, the formation of a system of organizations for their social development, the creation and improvement of state programs to support gifted children. Recommendations to improve work with gifted children are developed.
