Self-regulation of personal behavior in situations of normative uncertainty
Book Chapter
Pedagogy and Psychology as Sciences for the Formation of the Potential of Modern Society- Authors:

- Abstract:
- The chapter analyzes the concept of self-regulation, which is often found in various literature and has a large number of interpretations. In particular, psychological self-regulation of consciousness and the corresponding behavior of an individual in conditions of uncertainty is of particular interest. The existence of a person, his material well-being, health and even the life of a person depend on how he can cope with uncertainty and instability. The methodological principle for considering this problem is the principle of dialectical determinism. The result of considering the topic is the identification of its own approach to the study of self-regulation of personality behavior, which allows normalizing its mental state in conditions of uncertainty. The problems of studying self-regulation of personality behavior in the authors are closely related to social problems, and this connection can be designated as «normative determination». Depending on the type of personality, it will react differently to a situation of uncertainty in the absence of clear socio-cultural norms. Moreover, a person can nihilistically reject norms. A scheme of a categorical model for studying the behavior of an individual in a situation of normative uncertainty is proposed.

- Abstract:
- Today health & wellness coaching requires new approaches and effective solutions; in order for the client to comply with the instructions and adjust the lifestyle so that it contributes to his recovery, the skill of self-regulation, which is one of the components of emotional intelligence, is necessary. Despite the fact that the ways of regulation and the regulation itself belongs to medicine, the models of self-organization, for example, the experiencing of a body metaphor, is a branch of practical psychology. Therefore we have chosen endocrine disorders to examine as a system-forming unit for the organization of human behavior patterns. That is why, as a sample, we were interested in people with endocrine disorders; the physiology of human activity involves two ways of regulation – neural and humoral ones. The humoral one is determined by the presence or absence of neurotransmitters, which act as hormones and are considered in the endocrine system. According to this, a sample of people with endocrine diseases will have difficulties in self-organization processes. Due to cognitive theory, which studies ways of storing and processing information in the human mind, a metaphor is «the one of the main ways of understanding the world, when we think about one sphere in terms of another, thus classifying reality» [22]. Since the first sphere of human experience is one's own body, there are figurative and schematic concepts in mind that are recognized as some understandable and familiar structures because of previous body experience. And further they are applied to abstract concepts as well. In the process of recognition, in addition to comparison with familiar images, we can also see a comparison with the body, the signal from which can be positive, neutral and negative, which determines the emotional coloring of the resulting image. In this study we will test the effectiveness of working with the body metaphor in health & wellness coaching with people facing endocrine disorders through the development of their emotional intelligence. To take part in the study we invited 60 men and women aged 20 to 35 years upcoming outpatient treatment in the field of endocrine disorders. The respondents have completed our coaching program including the body metaphor method, and the following measurements were taken before and after the program: the test of emotional intelligence (the technique of Nicholas Hall) Author: E.P. Ilyin (2021); Body image questionnaire (OBI). Authors: O.A. Skugarevsky, S.V. Sivukha (2006); Psychological Stress Scale (PSM-25). Adaptation: N.E. Vodopyanov (2009); Emotional Intelligence Test (EmIn-Kr). Authors: D.V. Lusin, A.A. Pankratova, D.S. Kornienko (2022). The results of the study show statistically significant changes according to the Wilcoxon T-test (p < 0.05), which confirms the effectiveness of using methods of body metaphor in the development of emotional intelligence in people with endocrine disorders.

- Abstract:
- The work is devoted to the study of the relationship between parental burnout and the emotional sphere (empathy, emotional states, hostility and aggression) of mothers with infants and young children who meet the norms of age development. The main theoretical approaches to the study of motherhood, the problems and factors of maternal burnout in mothers and the study of the relationship between parental burnout and the emotional sphere of mothers are considered. As part of an empirical study at the ascertaining stage, in which six hundred mothers of infants and young children participated, statistically significant differences were established in groups of infants and young mothers, and correlational analysis was used to establish the relationship between the emotional sphere of mothers and parental burnout. At the formative stage, a self-coaching program was developed and implemented to correct parental burnout through the impact on the emotional sphere of mothers. At the control stage, the effectiveness of the program was confirmed and the hypothesis about the relationship between parental burnout and the emotional sphere (empathy, emotional states, hostility and aggression) of mothers with infants and young children who meet the standards of age development was confirmed. The results obtained can be used to correct parental burnout in mothers with infants and young children.

- Abstract:
- Justification. The relevance of the topic is due to the fact that at present deviant behavior is a phenomenon that negatively affects the development of personality and socialization of children, and also creates difficulties for the pedagogical work of teachers and for the interaction of parents with their children. In order to care for the healthy and harmonious development of adolescents, it is necessary to achieve an understanding of the mechanisms of the formation of behavioral deviations and develop effective methods of prevention. Purpose of the study. Study of emotional states and behavioral characteristics of pupils of organizations for children in difficult life situations. Methods. To study the emotional states, behavioral disorders in adolescents, 150 pupils of grades 7, 8 and 9 of secondary comprehensive schools in Tambov were examined. The study was conducted from February to November 2024. The study included testing. Statistical data processing was carried out through a comparative analysis of the input and output testing data using the Wilcoxon T-test. To identify the relationship between negative emotional states and deviant behavior, a correlation analysis of the data obtained in a group of children and adolescents from families with a socially dangerous situation was carried out. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient was used for the analysis, statistically significant correlation coefficients were taken into account | r | ( 0.5 at the level of p ≤ 0.01. Results. Our studies have revealed that children and adolescents from families with a socially dangerous situation experience discomfort during social adaptation, difficulties in developing behavioral patterns that reflect the system of values and norms of society, and they also have difficulties in interpersonal communication. Such children are characterized by difficulty in building personal boundaries and maintaining independence from the opinions of significant others. A third of the pupils have an increased or high rate of depression. This confirms the need to develop a comprehensive program for the prevention and correction of behavioral deviations in pupils of organizations for children in difficult life situations in order to avert crisis situations, depressive states, emotional breakdowns.

- Abstract:
- The chapter is devoted to a detailed analysis of the relationship between moral stability and emotional stability, taking into account the philosophical idea of Confucius about the moral education of a noble person. Confucius, as a great teacher of the ancient world, teaches not only to restrain emotions, but to direct their energy to the moral self-improvement of the individual. This article reveals in detail the content of the concept of emotional stability and the role of the teacher's moral stability in maintaining his emotional stability. In this aspect, brief information is given about the relevant personality traits of a noble person (jun zi), in particular, that a noble person moves «up» and not «down». The issue of different approaches to the moral and emotional nature of irritability is discussed. It was revealed that moral irritability serves as a symptom and a prerequisite for the under-mining of moral and, accordingly, emotional stability as components of personal autonomy. As a result, it is shown that high morality has a positive effect on emotional stability.

The relationship of children's experience of domestic violence and anxiety among young people
Research Article
Development of education Volume 6 No 3- Author:
- Svetlana G. Krasnova
- Work direction:
- Psychology in Education
- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to the problem of identifying the relationship between childhood experience of domestic violence and anxiety in young people. Relevance. The study of the relationship between childhood experience of domestic violence and anxiety among young people is of particular interest due to the specific age characteristics of youth on the one hand, and the significance of the childhood period on the other. In childhood, the foundations of personality are laid, stable personality traits are formed, and youth is characterized by a desire for self-realization, professional self-determination, the development of a system of moral and cultural values, in the formation and manifestation of which the experience of child domestic violence can have a significant negative impact. Based on the analysis of literary sources, it was revealed that the experience of child domestic violence can subsequently cause situational and personal anxiety. This was the basis for studying the relationship between children's experience of domestic violence and anxiety in youth (in retrospect) to develop a diagnostic technique. The aim of the study is to identify the relationship between childhood experiences of domestic violence and anxiety at the age of youth. In this work, the following research methods were used: analysis of theoretical sources on the research problem, study of the resources of educational Internet portals, survey, testing, mathematical and statistical methods. Calculations were performed using the Statistica 10 statistical package. The Student's t-criterion was used to compare unrelated samples, and Pearson's r-criterion was the linear correlation coefficient. The Pubmed search engine in the Scopus electronic database, as well as the scientific electronic library (e-Library) were used to review the literature. In the course of the study, publications and web data were searched by keywords and phrases: "violence of children in the family", "physical violence", "mental violence", "sexual violence", "detection of domestic violence". Research results and discussion. The article offers the results of a correlation analysis between the personal and situational anxiety of respondents and their childhood experience of domestic violence experienced at the age of 14, a description of the author's questionnaire for studying physical, psycho-emotional and sexual violence of young people aged 15 to 24 years (in retrospect). Conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the experience of child domestic violence can cause and actualize situational and personal anxiety later. In this regard, the study of the relationship between children's experience of domestic violence and anxiety among young people is an important task designed to provide an understanding of how human development occurs in ontogenesis. It is also associated with the study of the factors of the formation of a person as a full-fledged personality.

Estimating the coherence of mental representations of category “emotion” in non-psychologist and psychologist students
Research Article
Development of education Volume 6 No 3- Author:
- Svetlana S. Fedosina
- Work direction:
- Psychology in Education
- Abstract:
- Psychologists studying emotion repeatedly noted that the meaning of the concept of «emotion» in both everyday and scientific area is characterized by insufficient coherence and fuzzy boundaries. This raises the question of whether the representations of people in everyday life include a related set of properties that characterize emotions as a class of phenomena, and whether these representations differ in non-psychologist and psychologist students. Our goal was to study the coherence of mental representations of emotions as a class of phenomena among psychologist and non-psychologist students. Participants included non-psychologist (100 male, 110 female, mean age – 19 years) and psychologist students (31 male, 159 female, mean age – 20 years). Methods used included the method of definitions, the method of associations; the coherence of the answers was estimated with frequency analysis, the method of family resemblance by E. Roche, the Pearson association coefficient, the method for calculating the indices of coherence, divergence and structure organization proposed by A.V. Karpov. The results of the study showed that non-psychologist students' answers were characterized the lower level of categorical validity, structure coherence, overall organization, established less amount of correlations then psychologist students' answers. It can be concluded that mental representations of non-psychologist students demonstrate lower coherence than psychologist students. The observed differences may be due to the fact that psychologist students learn scientific concepts of emotion as part of their education. At the same time, the answers that psychologist students give cannot be called completely coherent, which may be due to the difficulty of identifying a related set of properties that consist the meaning of the scientific concept of emotion. In conclusion are given some recommendations for the teacher aimed at increasing the level of coherence in mental representations of emotions among students.

- Abstract:
- The chapter considers the relationship of students' self-reports on the presence and overcoming of academic difficulties in the process of learning at the university with the motives of learning, self-assessment of emotional and personal well-being and academic performance. The authors' pilot questionnaire aimed at identifying students' academic difficulties and opportunities to overcome them in the educational process at the university, as well as the methods «Diagnostics of Students' Learning Motivation» (Badmaeva, 2004) and «Self-assessment of Emotional and Personal Well-being» (Karapetyan, Glotova, 2020) and self-report of students on their academic performance for the previous semesters were used. The main part of the study was conducted by an online survey in a Google-form on a sample of 75 students of different ages, genders, courses and learning profiles, 40 students participated in the additional part of the study. Data processing was carried out using correlation analysis (according to Spearman). As a result of the study, multiple significant correlations of the academic difficulties with motives of learning, academic performance and emotional and personal well-being of students were obtained; a number of differences in the correlations of academic difficulties with the motives of learning of «activity spectrum» and «social spectrum» were revealed.
