- Abstract:
- The article deals with the issues of ethnocultural education of younger schoolchildren and the features of their solution in the modern information world; the results of an empirical study are presented, showing the insufficiently formed level of knowledge of the culture of the Karelian people by children on the example of the Kalevala epic, the development of which is mandatory in the educational space of the Republic of Karelia; examples of the use of the ideas of the synthesis of arts in the course of creating a choreographic work based on the Kalevala epic have been studied. The work is based on the author's observations of the process of studying the Karelian-Finnish epic “Kalevala” by students of primary school age in the conditions of the city of Petrozavodsk. The main research methods were theoretical analysis and experimental and practical work with an experimental group of younger schoolchildren. The author has studied the possibilities of applying the synthesis of arts in the formation of knowledge about the Kalevala epic. The epos “Kalevala” is included in the national-regional component of the educational program, the implementation of which makes it possible to achieve the tasks of ethno-cultural development and education of schoolchildren. However, in the conditions of multitasking pedagogical practice, forced to respond to all the challenges of the information world, the issues of preserving cultural traditions and transferring ethnocultural experience in the modern world become difficult to solve and depend on the stereotypes formed by modern mass media.

- Abstract:
- Chapter of the monograph reflects the problems of training specialists of a new creative type, who are distinguished by a high level of professionalism, who are ready for professional and creative self-realization, who have a need for constant professional and personal development and growth. Professional and creative self-realization was not previously considered as a value-target reference point for the professional training of specialists in the field of culture, which makes our study relevant, given the current priorities of higher education. The model of the process of training specialists in the sphere of culture for professional and creative self-realization developed by the author is built in accordance with the logic of a holistic approach in the unity of its internal structure (goal – content – means – result). In the process of implementing the model, a gradual increase in the quality of formation of the studied readiness was carried out. In the system of pedagogical means to form the readiness of specialists for professional and creative self-realization, innovative technologies (playing, projective, creative) are leading. The implementation of these technologies contributed to the acquisition of experience in personal, professional and professional-creative self-realization by future specialists in the field of culture. The special course «Theory and methods of training specialists for professional and creative self-realization» developed by the author is aimed at summarizing and mobilizing the knowledge of a block of general professional and special disciplines, developing special professional abilities (projective, pedagogical, creative) of professional qualities (creativity, general professional competence, competitiveness), as well as the gradual formation of readiness for personal, professional and professional-creative self-realization.

About Modern Factors of Yakut Identity at the Turn of the XX–XXI Centuries
Review Article
Ethnic Culture Volume 4 No 3- Author:
- Daria G. Bragina
- Work direction:
- Ethnography, Ethnology and Anthropology
- Abstract:
- In the conditions of the historically established ethnic diversity in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the complex development of market relations and the strengthening of the role of the ethnic factor, the problems of ethno-social adaptation of the indigenous population arises. The purpose of the article is to study the structure of a person's self-identification and to research various forms of identity such as ethno-cultural, linguistic and ethnic. One of the main sources for studying the problems of ethnicity was both various statistical materials, data from an ethno-sociological survey, and field ethnographic materials obtained by the author of the article in the course of expeditionary and stationary work in the uluses of the republic over the last quarter of the XX century – the beginning of the XXI century. When writing the work, the author applied both methods of field research in order to collect initial material, as well as theoretical and methodological ones. The article concludes that if there is a problem with the functioning of the Yakut language and its loss by a part of the urban Yakut population, it does not lead to the loss of Yakut identity. On the contrary, partly the loss of their native language by people of Yakut nationality, as it turned out, leads to the strengthening of their ethno-cultural identity. The dynamic of the number of Yakuts shows that the ethnic factor plays an important role in the identification of a person. The results of the work confirm the thesis that ethnicity, compensating for the weakening of civic identity, becomes a defining stratifying category, acquiring the ethnopolitical rank. In general, despite the influence of various factors, the materials of ethno-sociological studies in Yakutia showed a high degree of manifestation of both ethnic and ethno-cultural identity, and partly linguistic.

The Boundaries of Culture and Multiculturalism from the Perspective of an Anthropological Ontological Turn In Sociology
Book Chapter
Pedagogy and Psychology as Sciences for the Formation of the Potential of Modern Society- Author:
- Aleksandr I. Kugai
- Work direction:
- Глава 14
- Abstract:
- The chapter addresses to the theoretical foundations of multiculturalism as a potential for the development of a modern multi-ethnic and multi-confessional society from the position of an ontological turn in sociology, in which culture as a universal method of understanding human diversity is placed in a pluralistic approach to ontology, involving a variety of ontological schemes that form various social systems, each of which has its own understanding human differences. Sociality is not so much a condition of human existence as an attribute that is distributed among entities according to certain ontological classifications. Also, culture cannot exhaustively explain the sources of differences between human groups, since it is the product of one of these ontological schemes. The challenge that sociological theory must accept in such a way that the ontological turn in anthropology is not to circumvent and eliminate the differences between ontological perspectives, but to constantly change its conceptual obligations within the framework of a comparative approach to ontology, which eliminates any neutral point of view.

The Destiny of “Tradition” in the Modern World: A Comparative Analysis of the Concepts of E. Hobsbawm and S. Eisenstadt
Review Article
Ethnic Culture Volume 4 No 2- Author:
- Yulia S. Obidina
- Work direction:
- Ethnography, Ethnology and Anthropology
- Abstract:
- The conflicting assessments of the nature and role of traditions in the modern world stem in part from differences in the use of the term; the specific phenomena that are the focus of each perspective differ in some important respects. This opens up the possibility that seemingly contradictory conclusions about the role of traditions in contemporary societies can be reconciled. The article discusses the role and influence of traditions for the analysis of the modern socio-cultural situation from the point of view of two approaches: the concept of invented tradition by Eric Hobsbawm and the concept of multiple modernities by Shmuel Eisenstadt. The purpose of the article is to give a comparative analysis of the two approaches to tradition, showing that modernity is not a culturally neutral, universal socio-cultural product, but is formed under the influence of many traditions. Based on the method of comparative analysis, it was revealed that the concept of multiple modernities by Shmuel Eisenstadt, as well as the concept of invented tradition by Eric Hobsbawm, contradict the view of the classical theory of modernization on modernity as a break with tradition. At the same time, the meaning that Eisenstadt attaches to tradition differs markedly from that proposed by E. Hobsbawm. It is concluded that from the point of view of the theory of multiple modernities, the invention of new traditions in modernity is better understood as a process of transformation, and that the reconstruction of a tradition is not the same as invention. In both cases, both for the transformation and reconstruction of the tradition, the sociocultural context is important.

- Abstract:
- The article deals with the unity of the national cultural heritage and historical time in Kazakh documentary films. The purpose of the article is to analyze the features of the use of time in the depiction of the spiritual world, national customs and traditions in the films of documentary film masters OrazAbishev, BakhytGafu-Kaiyrbekov and others. Based on the formal stylistic method, the significance of historical time in documentary films is explored. The author, considering the unity of the national cultural heritage and historical time in the Kazakh documentary, concludes that in the Kazakh documentary film, the reflection of the unity of the national cultural heritage and historical time has gone through several stages of formation, and was closely connected with the social, political phenomena taking place in the country. In conclusion, the stages of the formation of Kazakh documentary cinema are listed from the point of view of reflecting historical time and it is argued that: 1) the first stage is associated with the establishment of Soviet power in Kazakhstan, with the ideology and politics of socialism (1927–1930); 2) the second stage is connected with the reflection of people's memory and history on the documentary film screen in the conditions of the political, social atmosphere of Kazakhstan in the 1960s (1960–1970); 3) the third stage reflects the processes of returning to the origins of national consciousness, people's historical memory (1990–2020).

- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to the problem of rational use of the potential of natural and cultural heritage objects. The relevance of the article is due to the fact that the development of Crimean tourism and local history organizations urgently requires practical measures to modernize socio- and ethno-cultural activities, and also leads to the search for new forms of interaction with local museums and the development of innovative methods and principles of preserving cultural and historical heritage. The author of the article considers the ecomuseum project "Belbek Valley" as an opportunity to reconstruct the appearance of rural dwellings of the 8-9 centuries. He raises the question of the materialization of such a reconstruction, the creation of a museum complex that will clearly present an early medieval rural settlement. The purpose of the article is to give an idea of the initial stage of design, i.e. the identification of the main objects of the prospective territory of the Crimea, followed by the development of a comprehensive program for the development of the region on the principles of the concept of unique historical territories. The materials for the study were natural monuments, archaeological sites, medieval historical and cultural memorials of the Crimean Peninsula. Based on the method of theoretical analysis, the uniqueness of the ecomuseum project "Belbek Valley" was substantiated. The conclusion of the article is made about the mountainous southwestern part of the Crimean Peninsula as a unique territory, which is a holistic, dispersed museum, full of monuments of nature, history, and culture.

- Russian Russians in Ukraine are, by historical law, an indigenous people, since Russian and Ukrainian have a common ethno-cultural origin. Bearing in mind the common history until the beginning of the XX century, a significant population of the current Ukrainian lands associated themselves with Russians. At the end of the XX century, Russians and Ukrainians gained their national statehood. But the fraternal peoples have in common memories of the indigenous ethnic unity of Ancient Russia, of the epic three heroes who defended Holy Russia, of the canonical saints of the Russian Orthodox Church. However, today we are all witnessing attempts by the Ukrainian political elite to rewrite the pages of our common history.
