this article is dedicated to the consideration of issues related to teaching Russian as a foreign language to high school students from families of foreign citizens. In particular, it examines the students' acquisition of the linguoculturological component of the Russian language, namely, the understanding and correct use of Russian proverbs and sayings in speech.
