    The article points to a large number of wars over the historical path of Russia. This fact contributed to the formation of the Russian national identity and its main component – patriotism. Attention is focused on explaining the position of the state on the need to protect its interests not only on its territory, but also outside the Fatherland.

    The article considers the experience of search work using the state information system «Memory of the people» in the study of the war period in the history of Kirby village of Laishevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan. In the process of clarifying information about the participants of the Great Patriotic War, the features of the material collected using this information system were analyzed, which may be useful to researchers or relatives of war participants.

  • About the dictionary of Chuvash microtoponyms

    Abstract:
    This study is devoted to the problem of the dictionary of microtoponyms existing in the Chuvash environment. Chuvash microtoponymy is one of the lexico-phraseological stratum that is being lost at a rapid pace, and its fixation currently seems more than relevant. Scientists have voiced the idea of such a publication many times, and have repeatedly begun collecting material, but it has never come to fruition. This publication is essentially a prospectus for the designed dictionary. The study is based on the analysis of a collection of names of small geographical objects created by students of the Chuvash state university in 2023. Lexicography of microtoponyms poses the task of codifying them, studying as a result of a specific extralinguistically determined naming of local geographical realities, as well as possible interlingual contacts with access to the problems of glotto- and ethnogenesis, clarifying the typological features of Chuvash naming in general. The authors propose a two-stage work on the project: first of all, the collection of toponyms and their publication in the form of annual collections, and secondly, the preparation and publication of the final dictionary. The indicated approach will prepare the basis for a general work on Chuvash microtoponymy.

    Over 2012–2022, there were changes in the composition of the number of employees and revenue to the type of economic activity «Agriculture, forestry, hunting, fishing and fish farming» in the context of the regions of the Central and Far Eastern federal districts. There were also changes in the structure of the analyzed indicators. Assessment of structural shifts in the Central Federal District and the Far Eastern Federal District indicate the presence of both negative and positive ones. The assessment using the integral indicator made it possible to indicate the presence of insignificant structural differences in the number of employees and very significant structural differences in revenue for the analyzed type of economic activity. The noted changes led to the improvement in the industrial index of labor productivity and, as a result, the presence of a positive shifting effect due to changes in the structures of the number of employees and revenue in the Central Federal District and the Far Eastern Federal District in 2017–2022.

The specific features characteristic of the formation of the vocabulary of children with ONR are revealed. Preschoolers have a limited vocabulary. Passive vocabulary usually prevails over active vocabulary. The article defines the stages of work on the development of the vocabulary of older preschoolers with general speech underdevelopment. Examples of games and exercises used in the course of correctional work on vocabulary development are given.

    For 2005–2021, significant structural shifts occurred in the production and production structure of the main types of livestock products (livestock and poultry for slaughter (in slaughter weight), milk) of the Central and Far Eastern Federal Districts, which are confirmed by the assessment of the integral coefficient of structural differences. These assessments made it possible to establish that the production of livestock products in the Central Federal District is characterized by a predominant concentration in agricultural organizations, which contributes to an increase in milk consumption and milk production by the population of the regions of the district. In the Far Eastern Federal District, the main producers of products are households that are mainly focused on ensuring personal consumption of products. The organizational and economic structure of the Far Eastern Federal District is characterized by relative stability, which requires attention from the authorities, since the population's consumption of livestock products per capita in most regions of the district is significantly lower than the average Russian consumption. The increasing involvement of agricultural organizations and peasant (farm) farms in the production of livestock products with active financial support from the state and the presence of consumer demand will increase the consumption of the most important types of products per capita in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District to the all-Russian level.

  • Short-term effect of the Internet use on memory of adults

    Abstract:
    The relevance of the research is due to the increasing use of the Internet and the lack of reliable information about the Internet exposure on higher mental functions of the users of different age. The aim of the study is to detect the short-term effect of the Internet use on indirect memorization in adults. The study has been conducted in terms of intraindividual quasi-experiment, that assessed the accuracy of memorization in two conditions: traditional reading (a book), web-search (a mobile phone). The pictogram test in the author’s variant was the main tool to assess the memory of adults. The research was held among teachers during classes of training courses (n=50; 12 males, 38 females; average age 44,56±4,11). To implement a scheme of a positionally equalized sequence of sampling, the sample was divided into 2 groups. In the results, one third of the sample showed the same level of accuracy in memorizing words in different conditions. Most of the participants demonstrated positive trends while reading (р≤0,01). While the number of mistakes was three times more for the web-search.

  • In these (end) times: Sh. Idiatullin's Volgaic fantasy fiction

    Abstract:
    The paper discusses the development of ethnic fiction in the modern Russian literature, focusing on Shamil Idiatullin's 2020 novel “Poslednee vremja”. We show that the tendency towards switching from ethnic to regionalist agenda can be observed in the works by both Russian authors, such as Denis Osokin and Alexei Ivanov, and authors having a non-Russian ethnic identity, such as the Tatar novelists Guzel Yakhina and Shamil Idiatullin. We adopt an interdisciplinary approach, bringing together techniques from literary studies (analysis of the genre and the literary situation as well as the historical and cultural context) and linguistics (an etymological analysis of proper names, in the first place). Our commentary on various linguistic, historical and cultural aspects puts Idiatullin»s novel into the discourse of the contemporary ethnic fiction as a text that expresses the positions of both the Conquerors and the Conquered. The analysis of personal names and other words of non-Russian origin that are used in the Russian text allows to identify the fictional ethnic groups with the actual peoples of the Volga-Kama region and places the novel within a present-day context. One of the key themes of “Poslednee vremja” is language loss, and some scenes, such as the self-immolation of the pagan priest Arβuj-Kuγə̑za, make a clear reference to the contemporary history of the region. The novel»s title can be translated as both “End times” and “These times”; thus, it includes simultaneously an apocalyptic allusion and a hint to the events of the recent past.

  • The regional component of the jargon of street groups of the 1980s and 1990s (based on the speech material of Yoshkar-Ola)

    Abstract:
    The work is devoted to the study of the vocabulary of youth groups in Yoshkar-Ola in 1980–1990. The purpose of this article is to characterize the local features of the language of Yoshkar-Ola youth unofficial groups. The research material was the jargon of participants in street gangs in the capital of the Republic of Mari El at the end of the twentieth century. The sources of language material were documentary literature, journalistic articles, dictionaries of substandard vocabulary and recordings of live speech of former group members. During the research, methods of linguistic observation and description, dictionary interpretation, and contextual analysis of lexical units were used. As a result of the study, the authors come to the conclusion that a number of jargons discussed in the article have become part of the unofficial microtoponymy of the city of Yoshkar-Ola. The likelihood of such lexical units appearing in dictionaries of non-literary vocabulary published by leading publishers is extremely low. The collected material contains information about the etymology of the unofficial toponymy of the city of Yoshkar-Ola, the communicative preferences of local youth and the linguistic realities of 1980–1990. The sublanguage of hooligan youth is very close in nature to Russian argot. A more detailed study of the jargon of street gang members may help change the uncritical attitude of Russian speakers towards the language of the criminal world.

    Abstract:
    The purpose of this study is to identify the problems of the execution of imprisonment related to labor adaptation as a means of correcting convicts in the context of the provisions of the 2030 Concept, in particular with the problem of the sale of products produced by convicts to introduce them to work, and the conditions of transportation of products manufactured by convicts. The objective of this study was to analyze the need to strengthen the formation and development of labor production in prisons and colonies, through the development of new production capacities, including through new investments by entrepreneurs, for which a targeted state policy providing a certain tax regime for entrepreneurs wishing to cooperate with institutions of the penal system is a pre-requisite. The author comes to the conclusion that the organization of employment in places of deprivation of liberty should be carried out taking into account the requirements of a market economy, as well as taking into account the fact that the work of convicts who have been sentenced to imprisonment should contribute to the socialization of convicts into society, their correction and their preparation for release, by introducing convicts to work, that the creation of the conditions for ensuring the normal functioning of production facilities in prisons and colonies related to the work of convicts, and the establishment of a transport process for the delivery of products produced by them, will not be complete without the development of standard contracts for the carriage of goods, taking into account the peculiarities of the institutions of the penal system. These conclusions suggest that the studies they are based on will allow interested persons to look at the problem of the execution of sentences in the form of imprisonment from a different perspective, taking into account the needs not only of the penal enforcement system, but also at a more global level provided for by the Concept of the Development of the Penal Enforcement System of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030. The main methodology of the author was the method of complex cognition, which allows to determine the value of the labor function of those sentenced to punishment.

    The article considers the results of the study of self-esteem of adolescents prone to victim behavior. The relevance of the study is due to the increasing number of cases of victim behavior in adolescence and the emergence of its new forms, which determines the need for timely organization of preventive work with such students by an educational psychologist. The article highlights the provisions of domestic and foreign studies of self-esteem of adolescents prone to victim behavior, presents the results of empirical research conducted by the authors of the article. Its purpose was to establish the peculiarities of self-esteem of adolescents prone to victim behavior. The study used the method of testing and methods of mathematical statistics. The test subjects were 30 college students (males) aged 15–17 years old. The authors established the peculiarities of self-esteem of adolescents prone to victimization: insufficient differentiation, inconsistency, lower assessment of physical appearance and appearance and higher assessment of skills for labor paid activity.

    The current political situation emphasizes the necessity to maintain the image of the country, Russian culture and language, Russian-language education in the world. In the conditions of the educational process of the university, the problem of maintaining motivation to study among students of the international faculty, which directly depends on the atmosphere in the student group, is topical. The article reflects the results of the research aimed at approbation of the program of work with students of international faculty based on the application of elements of traditional cultures (traditional and folk games, communicative norms and traditions, elements of folk folklore, etc.) as a tool to overcome tension and conflict in student groups studying Russian as a foreign language. The method of questionnaire survey, psychological testing, and expert evaluations were used to assess conflict and distance. Conclusions: the organization of work with students of the international faculty within the framework of the psychological service of the university has its own specificity, different from the work with Russian-speaking students; the use of elements of traditional culture (traditional and folk games, communicative norms and traditions, elements of folk folklore, etc.) is appropriate for solving the problems of psychological support of foreign students during the period of study.

    The chapter is devoted to the problem of the organization of tutor support of teachers in the system of additional professional education, ensuring the effective formation of their conflictological competence. The author presents the stages and conditions for the implementation of an individual educational program for the formation of conflictological competence of teachers in the process of tutor support at advanced training courses. The chapter concludes that the developed methodological equipment of the course and the accompanying activities of the tutor provide opportunities for teachers to better navigate the advanced training courses. It also allows students – teachers to independently choose the practical material they are interested in for the assimilation and subsequent creative application of the acquired knowledge and skills. The basis of the economy of the population of Krasnoslobodsky district was agriculture and animal husbandry. Gardening and horticulture played a large role in their economy. It was revealed that the formation of the economic activity of the population of the county was influenced by the following factors: natural and geographical (availability of a resource base), socio-economic (opportunities to supply food and products to other regions in connection with the expansion of the railway network in the Volga region; combining labor and commercial activities); ethnic (ethno-economic traditions, interethnic contacts).

    Abstract:
    The situation of the Chuvash language in the Russian Federation is presented in the light of the 2020 population census. The aim of the study is to understand whether the tempos of the language shift have changed compared to the previous decade. For the sake of comparison, the process of ethnic assimilation of the Chuvash population is also studied. The differences between the five regions with the highest concentration of Chuvash speakers are analyzed, and the position of Chuvash in Chuvashia is contrasted with the one of the official languages in the other five republics of the Volga Federal District. Research results. The analysis shows a serious deterioration in the quality of the 2020 census data compared to previous ones. This problem is partially solved by weighting them. The results show an average annual decline of about three percent of Chuvash speakers at both the Federation and Chuvashia levels throughout the 2010–2020 decade. This represents a doubling of the rate in comparison to the previous intercensal period. This degree of language shift is similar to that observed for Chuvash in Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, but lower than in the Ulyanovsk and Samara regions. The other official languages of the District have drops in the number of speakers in their respective republics similar to those of Chuvash in Chuvashia, including Tatar in Tatarstan. An apparent exception is Bashkir, but the data also indicate serious issues for the languages of Bashkortostan.
