The first pedologists of the Chuvash Republic and their experience in the study of Chuvash children
Review ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 6 No 3- Authors:
- Nataliya Y. Stoyukhina, Daniil V. Mironov
- Work direction:
- Ethno-Cultural Problems of Education
- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to the study of the activities of pedologists of the Chuvash ASSR and aims to analyze the historically first study devoted to the intelligence of Chuvash children. The study is based on the publications of the first pedologists from Chuvashia F. P. Petrov and M. E. Efimov. In accordance with the historical and psychological methods described by V. A. Koltsova, the work uses problematic and source study methods. The study is written in the aspect of the history of pedagogy. A graduate student of the Kazan Oriental Pedagogical Institute, F. P. Petrov with a team of students, for the first time carried out a comprehensive study of the intellectual development of Chuvash children using the Binet-Simon test method, widely known among Soviet pedologists. At first, pedologists took the test method in Russian, then it was translated into the Chuvash language with appropriate text changes in relation to the everyday and speech characteristics of the Chuvash. The result of the study was the book published in Cheboksary, "The experience of studying the intellectual development of Chuvash children using the Binet-Simon method", published in 1928. The book caused serious objections from the head of the pedological office at the Chuvash Scientific Research Institute M. E. Efimov; he believed that the author was biased against Chuvash children and violated the methodological principle of making tests. The correspondence polemic between two Chuvash pedologists about the measurement of children’s intelligence, along with similar cases in the country’s republics, prompted L. S. Vygotsky to call for an understanding of the problems of national pedology, with its leading problem – the measurement of intelligence.

Gruppovaia psikhologiia i psikhoanaliz liderstva
Book ChapterPedagogy and Psychology as Sciences for the Formation of the Potential of Modern Society- Author:
- Aleksandr I. Kugai
- Work direction:
- Глава 8
- Abstract:
- The author of the chapter asks the question: what can psychoanalysis teach us about identifying the basis of 'leadership'? This can be illustrated by the example of former US President Donald Trump. Freud's theory of group psychology and ego analysis provide a conceptual means for clarifying the sense in which Trump can truly be described as a leader. According to Freud, what constitutes a cohesive group is inextricably linked to the «libidinal bond» between the leader and his followers, analogous to two «organized» groups, namely the Roman Catholic Church and the army. The unifying role of the leader in relation to the group also relies on a shared hatred of something external to the group. According to Naomi Klein, a factor in Trump's leadership is the peculiarities of his sadistic nature, deployed in relation to «Trump the Disciple», which provides a clue to formulating the unconscious grounds for identifying Trump's followers with him: since Trump «denies» castration (powerlessness) or lack, he embodies the imaginary «fullness of being» with which they identify themselves.

- Abstract:
- The purpose of this chapter is to shed light on the interweaving of nationalism and populism, to identify the structural and socio-psychological factors from which the two discourses emerge. Nationalism is to come - as not so much a rational, but rather an emotional phenomenon, consisting of higher gnostic feelings of the belonging of mental processes to our "I". There are "banal" and "hot" forms of nationalism "banal" nationalism can be defined as the psychological presence of the nation against the background of everyday socio-political practices. Nationalism in the "hot" sense is to be as a psychological force that creates nation-states or threatens the stability of existing states. Also, Populist slogans are based on the psychology of winning one or another political force the trust and support of the masses. At the same time, the real goals of populist politicians (struggle for power, business project and enrichment), as a rule, are covered with socially attractive ideas. Standard populist statement: "We, the common people, will take to the streets and take back the country."
