Annotation: The article considers problems of using the discussion method as a form of communication, which at present has gained great significance in teaching Russian as a foreign language. To make discussion productive, a student should possess a set of certain skills, including both intellectual and communicative skills. The article presents discussion topics used at lessons of Russian as a foreign language.

This paper highlights the aspects of differentiated approach that becomes popular in the process of teaching the Russian language for foreigners. It is presented an argument that such approach has high efficiency. Differentiated approach recognizes personal qualities of each student, adds confidence in their knowledge and gives an opportunity to reveal creative potential. Eventually all this promotes interest of foreign students to study Russian.

This article focuses on the analysis of foreign medical students' satisfaction with the quality of teaching the discipline «Russian language in medicine». The anonymous questionnaire method, being the most accessible method of assessment, was used to determine the degree of learning satisfaction. The results of the questionnaire contribute to recommendations for improving the educational process in the department.
