- Abstract:
- In the context of a dynamically developing national economy in critical need of engineering personnel with flexible and systemic thinking and a holistic worldview, the competency-based model for training students in technical specialties presented in this article acquires particular significance. This study is aimed at developing a competency-based model for training students in technical specialties, grounded in the resolution of professionally oriented tasks, thereby fostering the requisite key competencies. The research comprises two stages: theoretical and practical. The theoretical stage employed a set of methods aimed at a comprehensive analysis of the problem of professionally oriented training of students in technical universities. In the practical stage, the effectiveness of the developed model was experimentally tested within the educational process of first- and second-year students at the Faculty of Instrumentation Engineering of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University (2024–2026). The research drew upon competency-based and system-activity approaches. The developed model characterizes the competencies acquired by students (universal, general professional, and professional) in the specialty 11.05.01 Radio-Electronic Systems and Complexes. The results confirmed that laboratory classes in physics contribute to the formation of a wider range of competencies compared to traditional teaching methods.

Research Article
Development of education Volume 9 No 2- Author:
- Lyudmila N. Danilova
- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- The aim of this article is to examine the specific features of organizing students' independent work in a modern university, using Mari State University as a case study. The relevance of the research is justified by contemporary requirements for the structure of curricula and the forms of organizing educational activities in higher education. The paper presents practical materials on the organization of students' independent work within the framework of the discipline “Technologies of Interaction between Participants in Educational Relations”, which is included in the master's degree curriculum. The research materials comprised an analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature and the results of the author's survey of students. The case study reveals the essence of the concept of “independent work” in the context of the requirements of regulatory frameworks governing the educational process and the current conditions for the implementation of educational programs. The author emphasizes the role of the teacher in organizing students' cognitive activities and substantiates the importance of monitoring and assessment on the part of the instructor. The article provides a fragment of the thematic planning of independent work, specifying the task formulations and the forms of reporting the results of students' independent mastery of the course material. Based on the research findings, the author draws the following conclusions: independent work is a component of the educational program within the academic discipline; students' learning motivation for independent work depends on the discipline module, instructor monitoring, and instructional support provided by the teacher.

Transformation of the Role of a Teacher of Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines in the Context of Digitalization of Education
Research Article
Development of education Volume 9 No 2- Author:
- Irina V. Staroverova
- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- The article analyzes the changing role of the teacher of socio-humanitarian disciplines (SHD) in the context of the widespread adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in the educational process. The aim of the study is to identify the directions of transformation of the professional position of the SHD teacher and to propose a model that enables the adaptation of the educational process to the new digital reality. It is shown that the traditional model of the teacher as the primary source of knowledge and an expert-controller no longer works when students have constant access to generative AI systems capable of producing coherent and outwardly persuasive responses. The “simulacrum effect” creates a particular vulnerability for SHDs: generative models can easily produce a passable philosophical or sociological essay without any genuine understanding of the content. The author argues that the new role of the SHD teacher involves shifting the focus from transmitting ready-made knowledge to teaching information literacy skills, including verification and prompt engineering. A three-level model of teacher role transformation is proposed: the methodological level (teaching verification and prompt engineering), the project-facilitation level (hybrid “human + AI” formats), and the ethical-reflexive level (defining the boundaries of acceptable AI use). A fourth, integrative level is also described, which is achieved upon mastering the previous three and involves the teacher transitioning to the role of academic mentor, guiding students through the research cycle of “generation – critique – reflection”. Based on practical experience, specific methods are described, such as the “three-layer essay” and “AI reviewer”, that enable the implementation of this model in the educational process. The proposed model transforms the teacher's role not toward competition with AI, but toward that of a mentor who cultivates critical thinking and research culture.

- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- This article focuses on the organization of professional training for future primary school teachers to foster a sense of patriotism in young students. The authors explore the pedagogical potential of regionally focused educational content. The article also focuses on the specifics of integrating various approaches to the use of historical, cultural-geographical, and folklore-based content into the professional training of future teachers. Based on a theoretical analysis of the scientific works of domestic and foreign researchers, the authors convincingly revealed the relationship between the development of a sense of patriotism in primary school students and the organization of professional training for future primary school teachers, taking into account the introduction of regional content into the educational process. The authors have developed a theoretical model of professional training of future primary school teachers to develop a sense of patriotism in students based on regional characteristics, which presents the features of integrating the regional component into the educational process of future teachers in order to prepare them to develop a sense of patriotism in primary school students. The article is addressed to the faculty training future teachers, primary school teachers, parents of primary school students, students of pedagogical educational institutions, as well as those interested in the problems of primary general education and the professional training of future specialists.

Physical Education of Students in the Context of the Lifelong Learning Concept
Research Article
Development of education Volume 9 No 2- Author:
- Ekaterina G. Saiganova
- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- The article examines the problem of modernizing the physical education system in higher education from the perspective of the lifelong learning concept. Modern socio-economic conditions, characterized by rapidly changing professional requirements and the deteriorating somatic health of young people, necessitate a revision of the traditional paradigm of physical education as a purely disciplinary course limited to the period of study at university. The aim of the study is to provide a theoretical justification and empirically test the effectiveness of a physical education model for students focused on developing health-preserving competencies and motivation for lifelong regular physical activity. Results: after implementing the model, the experimental group showed a significant increase in motivation by 49.4% (p ≤ 0.05), the level of self-monitoring competencies increased by 76.7%, and the frequency of independent exercise increased 4.2fold. The proportion of students intending to continue physical activity after graduation increased from 13% to 58%, and this effect persisted three months after the experiment (52%). The experimental results showed that implementing the author's model, which includes variable modules, self-monitoring elements, and a digital tracking platform, significantly increases the level of motivation for physical exercise and the formation of lifelong self-education competencies in the field of physical culture. It is argued that physical education for students should serve not as an isolated course but as a launching pad for an individual trajectory of physical self-improvement. The lifelong learning concept transforms the goals of physical education – from meeting standards to a culture of health, from compulsory classes to conscious self-organization. The proposed model can be scaled across the higher education system.

- Reviews and Critiques
- Abstract:
- The aim of this review is to analyze current trends in the development of legal clinics in the Russian Federation (2023–2026), identify key operational challenges, and assess their contribution to the training of future lawyers. The material comprises scholarly publications from 2023–2026, regulatory acts, and analytical reviews on practice-oriented legal education and the system of free legal assistance. The methodological framework is based on systemic and content analysis of scholarly literature, comparison of empirical data, and comparative analysis of pedagogical models. The results indicate the steady institutionalization of clinics, active digitalization, and expansion of specialized areas, while also revealing a lack of uniformity, unstable funding, and a shortage of qualified supervisors. The contribution of clinics to legal training is manifested in the development of practical professional competencies, communicative and legal literacy, ethical responsibility, and the civic stance of students. Based on the analysis, the following recommendations are proposed: integration of legal clinics into the Federal State Educational Standards, development of a unified digital platform, introduction of AI assistants and LegalTech, standardization of supervisors' workloads, an interdisciplinary approach, specialization of clinics, institutional partnerships, and others. The practical significance of the study lies in synthesizing scholarly perspectives and formulating recommendations for universities and educational authorities. The theoretical significance consists in developing the author's comprehensive model for evaluating the performance of legal clinics.

- This article examines the problem of student demotivation in the modern educational system and proposes an approach to solving it through the use of game design principles. The phenomenon of “boredom” is analyzed as a result of a mismatch between the complexity of educational material and the learner’s level of preparation. The concept of “flow” is considered as a state of deep engagement in activity. The article identifies the main problems of traditional education: lack of immediate feedback, uniform difficulty level for all students, monotony of learning, and lack of progress visualization. To solve these problems, the article proposes mechanics borrowed from the gaming industry: adaptive difficulty, task variability, achievement systems, and instant feedback. The educational platform Duolingo is analyzed as an example. The risks of excessive gamification and suppression of intrinsic motivation are also discussed.

- Abstract:
- The chapter examines the transformation processes in the educational system of the Russian Federation in the context of the transition from the Soviet model to the modern educational paradigm. The prerequisites and consequences of Russia's accession to the Bologna Process (2003–2023) are analyzed, including the introduction of the Unified State Exam, the credit-module system, and the unification of educational standards. Key problems of modern education are identified: staffing shortages, corruption, low funding, the predominance of theoretical training over practical training, weak continuity between educational levels, the mismatch between specialist training and labor market needs, and the outflow of qualified personnel abroad. Promising areas are considered: the development of a dual system of vocational education (combining 40% theory and 60% practical training), the Priority 2030 program, and the transition to a supply-side economy. It is concluded that it is advisable to transition to a national education system that takes into account historical experience and ensures the training of qualified personnel for the domestic economy, in accordance with the tasks outlined in the President's Address to the Federal Assembly.
