    Abstract:
    The chapter is devoted to an attempt to analyze the effectiveness of the introduction of digital technologies in the educational process of a medical university. This topic is very relevant, in view of the fact that at present the pandemic of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19 is still ongoing in the Russian Federation and around the world. Having started locally in China, in a short time the epidemic was able to grow to the size of a pandemic, «swallowing» almost all countries of the world. The governments of the countries began to develop and then implement various innovative methods of combating the unfavorable epidemic situation. One of these aspects was the transfer of the entire educational process to a distance channel. However, the «first wave» of the pandemic was followed by the «second», then the «third», and so on. The educational process has been «stuck» in a remote format for a long time. At present, for many teachers of higher education and scientific researchers, it has become of interest to analyze the effectiveness of the use of modern digital technologies in the educational process, which was the purpose of this work. The objects of the study were 400 people, divided into 2 groups of 200. Group 1 included 200 students of the 3rd and 6th year, divided into 100 people, depending on the course of study. Group 2 included resident doctors, divided into subgroups depending on the profile of training (therapy or surgery). The study was based on an anonymous survey, the task of which was to determine the general attitude to distance and classical education, to identify all the negative and controversial aspects of distance learning, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of distance learning itself and its effectiveness and expediency during an unfavorable epidemic situation. At the final stage, the subjects were asked to evaluate the prospect of introducing digital learning elements into its traditional format. The data obtained are of great interest to teachers of the higher school of a medical university, students and residents involved in the educational process.

    Abstract:
    Assessment of satisfaction with the quality of university educational activities is made up of the quality of services provided by the individual departments. This article focuses on the analysis of foreign medical students' satisfaction with the quality of teaching the discipline «Russian language in medicine». The anonymous questionnaire method, being the most accessible method of assessment, was used to determine the degree of learning satisfaction. The results of the questionnaire contribute to recommendations for improving the educational process in the department.

    Abstract:
    The chapter is devoted to the study of some aspects of the attitude of medical students to the stage of distance and «traditional» – full-time education. The relevance of the study is given by the fact that at present in Russia and around the world the pandemic of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19 has not yet ended, despite a significant decline in the past few months. The objects of the study were 400 people – men and women studying at the Voronezh State Medical University. N.N. Burdenko, divided into 2 groups of 200 people. Group 1 included 200 students, men and women of the 4th year of the medical faculty of VSMU. N.N. Burdenko, who, in fact, spent more than half of their total education at the university in distance learning (continuing partly from spring 2020 to spring 2022). Group 2 consisted of 200 people, men and women, 6 courses of the medical faculty of VSMU. N.N. Burdenko, who, in fact, spent more than half of their total education at the university in the «traditional» – full-time study mode (despite some periods of distance learning due to COVID-19). The study was based on an anonymous questionnaire specially developed by the authors, aimed at studying the gender and age composition of respondents, determining their academic performance, identifying a general attitude to the period of distance and traditional education, with an assessment of the effectiveness of each period (on a 10-point scale). Then, in the questionnaire, the subjects were asked to determine the positive and negative aspects of each stage of education (full-time or distance), as well as to «determine» the transition from distance to full-time learning again and to speak about a possible desire to return the distance learning period to a permanent basis in a comprehensive learning process in medical school. The data obtained are of particular interest not only for scientists and researchers involved in pedagogy and psychology, but also for all higher education teachers involved in the educational process in medical universities.

Currently, there is a large selection of tools for multidimensional data analysis, diverse and sufficiently accessible for use by teaching users. However, the description of techniques for understanding the process of multidimensional classification (grouping), currently available, is relatively difficult for teachers without mathematical training.     Abstract:
    Introduction. The methodological support of the educational process is considered from the point of view of the didactic construction of the information environment of education using technical pedagogical tools in the implementation of the pedagogical technology "learning through teaching". To increase the complexity of the teaching content, the effectiveness of combining the "learning through teaching" approach with information technologies is considered proven. The most developed idea of such a combination is the introduction of a "pedagogical agent (comrade)", which carries out communication with the subject area and is an analogue of an expert system. From the point of view of designing an information learning environment, we can talk about using technical tools or their analogs as boundary objects. Horizontal interaction of participants with each other in the implementation of the technology "learning through teaching" generates new boundary objects that can be considered as the basis of methodological support of the educational process. The combination of these two approaches is the theoretical basis of part of the research carried out at the Department of Algorithmic Mathematics of SPBSET "LETI". Results. The role and place of teaching materials in the implementation of the technology "learning through teaching" is presented. The changes in the understanding of the content of teaching are confirmed not only in direct active "teaching", but also in the preparation of teaching materials.

    Abstract:
    The need to study academic engagement and its psychological components is due to the fact that some university students do not study in full force, do not master the necessary knowledge and competencies. The goal was to highlight the psychological components of student engagement in learning, as well as to study the connections between them and academic performance as an effective component of engagement. The methods used were “Emojis” (V.V. Gizhitsky), “Diagnostics of educational motivation of students” (N.Ts. Badmaeva), “Self-assessment of emotional and personal well-being” (G.A. Glotova, L.V. Karapetyan), pilot author's questionnaires “Inclusion in learning” and “Academic microdeviations”. Also, students gave information about the performance of past semesters and the course of study at present. The pilot study conducted by the online survey method involved 83 university students aged 16–26 years. Correlation analysis (according to Spearman) was used in the data processing. As a result of the study, multiple reliable correlations were obtained between psychological indicators of student engagement in learning, such as attitude to learning, motives of learning, inclusion in learning, emotional and personal well-being, behavior of students in classes in situations of fatigue or in the absence of interest in the studied material; it was revealed that the indicators of attitude to learning, inclusion in learning in seminar and practical classes, educational, cognitive and professional motives of learning, as well as “conditionally productive” academic microdeviation are significantly positively correlated with academic performance.

    The article is devoted to the study of some psychosocial and psychoemotional aspects of medical students and their parents and relatives living together. The work is relevant, as the pandemic of the new coronovirus infection COVID-19 is currently ongoing in Russia and in the world. The study is also interesting in that despite a number of works by various authors – scientists and teachers of higher education studying aspects of the psychoemotional state of students, very few works are devoted to their relationship and the dynamics of these relationships with their loved ones – parents and relatives, especially against the backdrop of a pandemic of a new viral infection., which was the aim of this study. The objects of the study were 359 people. The 1st and 2nd groups included 100 students, men and women, of the medical faculty of VSMU. N.N. Burdenko (5 course); Group 3 consisted of 159 people, men and women, who were related to representatives of group 2 and lived together with them. The study was based on an anonymous questionnaire specially developed by the authors, aimed at studying the gender and age composition of the respondents, identifying the main psychosocial and psychoemotional interactions of the objects of study, including determining the conditions of their residence and determining the circle of persons living with them; determining the main aspects of their interpersonal relationships, including their «warmth» and the frequency of quarrels and omissions; determination of susceptibility to stress in the objects of study, the severity of anxiety in certain periods of life and the possible presence of true depressive or depressive-like states in them.     The article discusses the results of an empirical study of the features of the working memory of schoolchildren with learning problems. The research topic is relevant and significant in the context of solving the problems of forming the quality of sustainable school knowledge among students at the stage of primary education. To study the characteristics of the working memory of younger schoolchildren with partial learning difficulties, a number of methods were used that were implemented in the course of a formative experiment to test the developed correctional program. In the course of an empirical study, at the initial stage, the following were established: reduced productivity and instability of memorization; the low level of mediated memorization, with the subsequent use of the correctional program in work with the subjects, positive dynamic changes were obtained at a significant level of significance in the following features of the working memory of younger schoolchildren with learning problems (a noticeable predominance of visual memory over verbal; rapid memorization of material).

  • Study the Effects of Differentiated Instruction on English Grammar Teaching in Ethiopia

    Abstract:
    The purpose of the current study was to explore the effects of differentiated instruction, a neglected instructional practice in the Ethiopia in the EFL class in the contemporary diverse classroom situations. To achieve this purpose, the study adopted the quasi-experimental study design and randomly selected two intact classes consisting of 84 grade 12 students (CG:43, EG:41) and pre-tested to prove the comparability of the students’ grammar learning achievement. Relevant quantitative data were gathered using an English grammar learning achievement test. The intervention lasted for 12 consecutive weeks from October 2022 through early January 2022. The experimental group was taught using flexible grouping, tiered instructions, scaffolding techniques, and anchored activities as differentiated instructional strategies while the control group was taught English grammar following the one-size-fits-all conventional approach that hardly addresses or neglects students’ diverse learning needs. This group was taught a similar language focus using only textbook-provided activities. The quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS, version 24 software. Confirming the normality of the quantitative data, the independent t-test and dependent t-test were used in analyzing the pre-test and post-test data, but the qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. The findings of the study indicated that the overall mean gains for the experimental group significantly differed from the corresponding comparison group’s post-test test mean gains. The within-group comparison also showed that the post-test results of the experimental group were significantly different from the pretest results. The calculated effect size for the dependent t-test and independent t-tests were found to be moderate and large. The effect size for the treatment group exposed to differentiated instructions revealed meaningful improvement in the students’ English grammar learning. In light of the main results, the study concluded that DI significantly improved students’ English grammar learning achievement. Accordingly, the study suggested that differentiated instruction should be integrated into the regular EFL class to promote students’ learning.

  • Communicative Training as a Method of Overcoming Psychological Barriers that Arise when Learning a Foreign Language

    Introduction. The article discusses the psychological barriers that arise in the study of a foreign language among secondary school students, modern teaching methods to overcome psychological barriers. The article also analyzes the study results of the possibility of overcoming psychological barriers that arise when learning a foreign language with the help of communicative training. Recommendations are offered for the prevention and overcoming of psychological barriers that arise when learning a foreign language among schoolchildren. Literature review. The article provides a theoretical analysis of approaches to the study of psychological barriers that arise in the study of foreign languages. Particular attention is paid to Stephen Krashen's affective filters: confidence, motivation and anxiety. The factors of occurrence of psychological barriers in learning a foreign language among students are also considered. Research methods. At the ascertaining and control stages of the study, we used the "Language Barriers" methodology of the Center for Language Psychology. The purpose of the methodology: to determine the nature of the difficulties that students face in the process of learning foreign languages. At the formative stage, a communicative training was developed and introduced into the educational process to overcome the psychological barriers of schoolchildren. Research results. Analysis of the results of the ascertaining stage of the study allowed us to conclude that students have an increased level of barriers, difficulties in understanding foreign speech, do not always understand the meaning of sentences, find it difficult to use a foreign language, etc. The use of communicative training, gaming technologies in foreign lessons improved performance on all affective filters (anxiety, motivation, confidence), reduced psychological barriers, reduced fear of difficulties and improved students' attitude to the school discipline "English", create a positive attitude to its study, stimulating the independent speech-thinking activity of students. Conclusions. The results of the study led to the conclusion that communicative training, gaming technologies are effective methods for overcoming psychological difficulties and barriers that arise when learning foreign languages.

Социальное взаимодействие имеет решающее значение для эффективного общения и установления хороших отношений между преподавателями и учащимися. Оно делится на три типа: взаимодействие ученик – ученик, ученик – преподаватель и взаимодействие ученик – контент. Учебная и технологическая поддержка имеют решающее значение для повышения эффективности обучения, способствуя когнитивному процессу учащихся при онлайн-обучении.

    Abstract:
    The chapter explores the question of what knowledge and skills a game practitioner should have in order to conduct games in an environmentally friendly, safe way for their clients, providing them with maximum opportunities for self-knowledge and development and ensuring comfortable interaction in a group. The chapter also describes a special program of professional retraining in the profession of "psychologist-game practitioner" on the basis of the first higher education. It is revealed what exactly and how it is necessary to train game psychologists in order to ensure a high-quality level of psycho-logical, transformational, business, coaching, skill and other games that are so relevant in the modern world. The game practitioners’ market is rapidly developing and growing. More and more specialists from different professions come to it. That is why the definition and maintenance of the standards of the profession of a game practitioner-psychologist is becoming so relevant now. The chapter will present tests that will determine how suitable a person is for the profession of a psychologist-game practitioner, and whether he needs to study this profession on a special professional retraining course.

    Abstract:
    The content sets out the theoretical foundations of the problem of developing the intellectual potential of modern children in the information world. Emphasis is placed on interactive learning as a condition for the development of mental cognitive processes in children of primary school age. An analysis of the presented program “Sherlock” is given; the results of the introduction of this program into the practice of the educational process in the primary grades of the school are presented. The study shows that the presented project can be successfully used to develop the intellectual potential of younger schoolchildren in the process of interactive learning.
