Antibacterial Properties of Common Plants

07.07.2026

Annotation

In this study, we present the results of a comparative analysis of the antibacterial activity of aqueous extracts of common plants: garlic (Allium sativum), onion (Allium cepa), and horseradish (Armoracia rusticana). The aim of the study was to evaluate the phytoncidal properties of these plants in the context of searching for natural alternatives to synthetic antibiotics amid rising antibiotic resistance. The ability of phytoncides to inhibit the growth of bacterial test cultures on a nutrient medium has been experimentally confirmed. The garlic extract demonstrated the highest antibacterial...

Pharmacological and Biochemical Properties and Practical Applications of Medicinal Plants

07.07.2026

Annotation

The paper presents the results of a study examining the practices of using medicinal plants (chamomile, wormwood, dog rose, and hawthorn) among the population of the Chuvash Republic, as well as an assessment of respondents’ attitudes towards the independent harvesting of herbal raw materials and towards pharmaceutical forms. The aim of the study was to test the hypothesis that there is a high level of public trust in the healing properties of traditional medicinal plants and to identify the reasons for preferring purchased raw materials over self‑collected ones. The empirical part included an...

Contribution of Hydrogen Bond Networks to the Exceptional Properties of Water

08.07.2026

Annotation

The paper presents the results of a study on the physicochemical properties of water and their role in natural and biological systems. An analysis of the water molecule structure was carried out, and its key characteristics — high heat capacity and selective dissolving power — were demonstrated experimentally. The significance of these properties for stabilizing the environment and supporting vital functions was also assessed. The aim of the study was to demonstrate the fundamental importance of water’s anomalous properties, which are often perceived as commonplace. The results confirm that th...

Experimental Assessment of the Toxicity of Smoking Products on Model Organisms

06.07.2026

Annotation

In this study, the results of an experimental assessment of the toxic effects of smoking products on model organisms are presented — larvae of the grey flesh fly (Sarcophaga carnaria), bloodworm (Chironomus), and Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata). It has been established that tobacco smoke, water‑soluble components of cigarette filters, and food treated with tobacco substances exert a pronounced toxic effect, leading to reduced activity, impaired development, and death of the larvae. The identified patterns confirm the high ecotoxicological hazard of tobacco smoke components a...

Analysis of Arterial Blood Pressure During Exercise

06.07.2026

Annotation

In this study, the results of investigating the reactivity of the human cardiovascular system are presented; they were obtained through a series of functional tests followed by mathematical processing of hemodynamic parameters. It has been established that different types of stressors (dynamic load, orthostatic test, cognitive stress) induce qualitatively distinct hemodynamic patterns. It was revealed that dynamic load primarily increases cardiac output, the orthostatic test activates baroreflex compensation, and cognitive stress provokes a pronounced pressor response due to an increase in per...
