  • The impact of using chatbots on learning a foreign language in a non-linguistic university

    Abstract:
    The relevance of this study is determined by the fact that artificial intelligence and neural network chatbots are playing an increasingly important role in higher education; they often take over traditional methods of teaching a foreign language in non-linguistic universities. At the same time, the issue of the advantages of using artificial intelligence in teaching a foreign language remains open. The purpose of the chapter is to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of using neural network chatbots in the process of teaching a foreign language in comparison with traditional teaching methods. To achieve this goal, the author uses experimental teaching of English to first-year future culturologists. As a result of the study, it was found that the process of assimilation of foreign language material when teaching a foreign language using chatbots differs from the process of assimilation while teaching traditionally. Significant differences were noticed at the stages of formation of motivation, presentation of new foreign language material, comprehension and rethinking of the new lexical and grammatical material. Such phenomena as clip thinking, the Google effect, and the devaluation of students’ memory with the constant use of digital devices have a particularly strong influence on changes in the learning process. Techniques are proposed to neutralize the negative impact of neural network learning on students, when implemented, an increase in the effectiveness of teaching a foreign language using neural network chatbots is observed.

    Abstract:
    A detailed study of the dialogues of Plato, the father of the fathers of philosophy and pedagogy, reveals that he considered leisure to be the central goal of education in the liberal arts. Schools should teach citizens not to avoid leisure by choosing excessive work, but instead to turn to virtue, embodied in the state in the daily practice of the liberal arts. But play was Plato’s method of education. Children learned best through playful activities that engaged their enthusiasm, that «turned the gaze of their souls» to the Good and the True. Likewise, play was the best way for adults to learn and practice philosophy, and it was the only way to discover new truth. Play was also central to the Socratic method. Plato found that dialogue at its highest and most serious level was a game for both teacher and student. Although the main thrust of playful education was to turn people to truth and to make them do philosophy for themselves, according to Plato, Being itself is in play.

    Abstract:
    To ensure stable development of regions, it is important to ensure regional economic security. The central place in this system is occupied by the internal affairs agencies (IAA). The purpose of the study is to study the role of law enforcement agencies in ensuring the economic security of the region. The article uses the following research methods: analysis of theoretical sources, statistical and comparative analysis. The role of the IAA in ensuring the economic security of the Magadan Region is analyzed. At the same time, it is concluded that the increase in the number of identified economic crimes is a negative fact characterizing a decrease in the level of economic security in the region. To improve economic security in the region, it is necessary to develop education and inform the population about the risks and methods of preventing economic crimes. It is also important to strengthen financial liability for such crimes.

The author explores the significant ways in which AI has transformed education by enabling personalized learning, enhancing the overall quality of education, increasing access to a variety of educational resources, and relieving educators from repetitive and time-consuming tasks. AI has proven effective in adapting to the diverse needs of students, fostering individualized learning experiences, and promoting more efficient teaching methods. However, the article also addresses important concerns, such as ethical issues, data privacy risks, and the dangers of over-automation, which could undermine the human element in education. Despite these challenges, the author argues that AI has the potential to greatly improve educational processes. It is essential, however, to ensure that AI is used as a supportive tool for teachers and students rather than a substitute, with careful consideration of its implications for the future of education.

    The article addresses the issue of qualimetric analysis of professional self-determination among students within the context of basic general education. Based on theoretical and empirical research methods conducted at MBOU Secondary School No. 4 in Poltavskaya village, Krasnoarmeysky District, Krasnodar Krai, the study presents the results of diagnostics assessing the readiness of 9th-grade students for professional self-determination. The activities of the educational institution related to vocational guidance are analyzed, factors influencing the process of professional self-determination are identified, and a series of recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of this process are proposed.     This study used heart rate variability to examine the physical and emotional health of employees in prisons and schools. High-stress jobs in prisons may lead to health problems in employees, as shown by heart rate variability studies. Educational professionals are at risk of developing stress-related problems and unhealthy coping mechanisms. The greatest contribution to the disturbance of heart rate regulation revealed based on LF and VLF indices, which show a disturbance of the physical and emotional state. To reduce stress, everyone needs a regulated work schedule, rest, and access to medical and psychological support. Based on the information obtained, a correctional model developed aimed at preventing emotional burnout, maladaptation, and desynchronosis among employees of penitentiary institutions and educational organizations.

At the same time, based on the study and analysis of existing interpretations of the concepts of "communication" and "competence", an interpretation of the category of "communicative competence" is proposed within the framework of communications, communities and connections existing in digital education.     Digital technologies make it possible to automate the processes of disinformation and information warfare, launch fakes promptly and on a large scale, organize information interventions to shift public attention from one information agenda to another, to conduct information and psychological operations, and to have a certain impact on the consciousness and behavior of target groups. Fakes circulate not only in pop media and propaganda channels, but also penetrate into journalism, educational content, and scientific discourse, not only as a subject of scientific research, but also as a result of falsification; the phenomenon of fake journalism and journalism that ignores the high standards and principles of the profession has emerged. In the dense flow of rapidly updating information, attentive perception is difficult, it is difficult to distinguish between truth and falsification, and to obtain reliable information about events; Society is under unprecedented pressure from digital media disinformation, undermining trust in social institutions and social communication channels. These circumstances actualize the issues of improving the methodology and tools for verifying information and recognizing fake content in online media. The purpose of the study is to analyze the signs of fake media content and improve methods of countering disinformation in the media space. Results: the goals and motives of fake creators and distributors, signs and technologies of digital content falsification are investigated, approaches to combating fakes and falsification of information in online media are analyzed, the effectiveness of various technologies for detecting fake content and countering its influence is assessed. The concept of a comprehensive system for countering fakes in the digital space is outlined. One of the conclusions of the study is that countering the influence of fake online media content is not limited to technical and regulatory solutions, since the mechanisms of this influence are socio-psychological; cognitive sciences can provide a methodology for effectively countering deception and manipulation.     The chapter considers the problem of formation of ecological culture of citizens, analyzes the effectiveness of the ecological festival as an innovative method of environmental education. In the course of the work, sociological methods (surveys, reviews, interviewing), analysis of statistical data were used. The success of the annual ecological family festival «ArtLuga», held in Artemovsk meadows on the banks of the Volga River, is presented. Examples of filling the events of the festival held in 2024, «ArtLuga – Dawn», are given. The chapter can be used as a small guide that gives vectors for thinking through a festival of this format with an ecological and educational bias.
