    Abstract:
    The methods of using techniques for determining the intellectual giftedness of a child in secondary school are examined, the analysis of existing methods for identifying signs of giftedness is carried out. The authors proposed psychological and pedagogical models for identifying giftedness for a subject teacher. Particular attention is paid to the importance of diagnosing gifted children for improving the educational process system, solving urgent issues, since the personality of a gifted pupil should not be adjusted to the general standard of education and a school should create all conditions for the development of giftedness.

    Abstract:
    A scientific analysis on the problem of children's giftedness is presented in the article. The individual approach is thoroughly characterized as a methodological component of modern humanistic education, based on the laws of human individuality and taking into account unique features of each pupil, their aptitudes and needs. Age and psychological features of gifted first-graders are revealed. The authors give a meaningful description of pedagogical work and problems with gifted first-graders. In the course of the research, the authors carried out a theoretical analysis of the literature on the problem. It is concluded that one of the main conditions for the implementation of an individual approach in domestic education is pedagogical activity with gifted children.

    In the modern educational process, a significant role should be given to psychological and pedagogical support for gifted children, because in the school environment, their self-esteem often becomes inadequate. Creating a psychologically safe environment, pedagogical conditions, and the correct relationship between teachers and pupils is the task of the school team to maintain normal self-esteem of gifted pupils. The problem is particularly evident in primary school age when moving to a new social environment, so the work of teachers and psychologists at this age stage should be particularly detailed.

    The possibilities of using non-traditional approaches in organizing the educational process of gifted children in the Republic of Tajikistan are considered in the article. Interest in the problem is due to social transformations that have served as a trigger for creating new conditions and prospects in the field of education in the Republic of Tajikistan, including work with gifted children. An example of the organization of the most interesting and well-established forms of conducting reading lessons is given. The author’s approach is based on the results of research made by American psychologist L. Terman. Analyzing the subject, the author pays special attention to acceleration in personality development of the gifted children as one the educational strategies. The author is also touching upon the issue of establishing a special school for gifted children. The general conclusion made in the article is that various manifestations of giftedness and a child’s advances in various fields at an early age regretfully cannot guarantee success in his future path of self-realization.
